OnePlus will leave the US and EU markets while continuing software updates, security patches, warranty coverage and after-sales support for existing customers.

OnePlus confirmed July 16 that it will leave the US and EU markets, ending months of speculation about its regional future. The company says existing customers can keep using their phones and access support after the withdrawal.

Existing phones will keep receiving support

OnePlus says current devices will continue to receive software updates, security patches and applicable support. Existing warranties will remain valid, and customers can use the OnePlus support website for repairs and after-sales service.

The announcement gives current owners a measure of certainty. Customers can keep their phones without losing access to routine maintenance or warranty assistance. OnePlus has not said that it will stop serving existing devices on a fixed date.

OnePlus also addressed its software transition. Devices that qualify for the new ColorOS release can install it, but owners can choose whether to make the change. OnePlus says eligible users can return to OxygenOS if they prefer the existing interface. Devices that cannot run ColorOS will continue receiving maintenance updates under the company’s support plans.

OnePlus will close its U.S. community forum

OnePlus will shut down the U.S. OnePlus Community forum at 11:59 p.m. EST Aug. 16, 2026. The company advised users to save photos, files and other media stored on the forum before the closure.

The forum has served as a place for customers to discuss devices, report problems and find troubleshooting information. Users who rely on old posts for setup instructions or repair guidance should preserve anything they may need before the deadline. The OnePlus Community site remains the relevant destination for the company’s forum information until the closure takes effect.

What the exit means for buyers and developers

New OnePlus hardware will become harder to buy through official channels in the US and EU. Retailers may continue selling remaining inventory, but customers should check warranty terms, regional model support and repair availability before purchasing an imported phone.

Developers who test Android apps on OnePlus devices can continue using existing hardware while OnePlus maintains updates. Testing plans may need to account for OxygenOS and ColorOS versions on eligible devices, since owners can choose between the two software paths. Teams that support customers in the US and EU should also keep device-specific troubleshooting information available outside the OnePlus forum.

The company has not announced a replacement brand or a timetable for returning to either market. Its statement frames the move as a refocus on markets where it sees stronger prospects.

For current owners, the next steps are practical: confirm warranty details, save useful community content and review whether a future ColorOS update fits the device and workflow. OnePlus will handle support through its existing channels as the company winds down its consumer presence in the US and EU.
