Seiko expands its Prospex Speedtimer collection with three new V192 solar-powered chronographs in silver, salmon, and green dial variants.

Seiko has introduced three new additions to its Prospex Speedtimer chronograph lineup, featuring the brand's reliable V192 solar-powered movement across three distinct dial colorways. The new models—SSC961 (silver), SSC963 (salmon), and SSC965 (green)—represent standard production pieces rather than limited editions, making them more accessible to collectors and enthusiasts.

All three references share identical physical dimensions, with a 39 mm case diameter, 13.3 mm thickness, and 45.5 mm lug-to-lug distance. The stainless steel construction extends to both the cases and bracelets, maintaining consistency across the collection. Each watch is equipped with a three-fold clasp featuring a push-button release for secure wear.

The V192 solar caliber powers these chronographs, eliminating the need for battery replacements by harnessing light energy. This movement drives a three-register chronograph configuration with a 24-hour sub-dial and 60-minute chronograph function. A date window is positioned between the 4 and 5 o'clock indices, providing practical everyday functionality.

Design elements pay homage to the Speedtimer's heritage from the 1970s, with tachymeter scales on fixed bezels that echo the original models. The bezel finishes are carefully coordinated with each dial color: black for the silver and salmon variants (SSC961 and SSC963), and brushed steel for the green model (SSC965). Curved sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface enhance legibility while providing scratch resistance.

Water resistance is rated at 10 bar (100 meters), suitable for surface swimming but not intended for professional diving applications. This specification aligns with the collection's focus on everyday wearability rather than extreme underwater performance.

The Prospex Speedtimer series has established itself as a cornerstone of Seiko's sports watch offerings, combining vintage-inspired aesthetics with modern solar technology. These new additions continue that tradition while offering collectors three distinct aesthetic options to choose from.

For those interested in exploring Seiko's chronograph offerings, the brand's Amazon storefront provides access to the broader collection, including the SSK001 model and other Speedtimer variants.

These new releases demonstrate Seiko's commitment to evolving its classic designs with contemporary technology, ensuring the Speedtimer legacy continues with improved functionality and reliability for the next generation of watch enthusiasts.
