U.K.-based Akasa has launched the Euler CMX, its newest fanless Mini-ITX chassis engineered specifically for Intel's latest Core and Core Ultra processors. Designed for reliability in industrial point-of-sale systems and home theater PCs, the case leverages a completely passive cooling system capable of handling CPUs with thermal design power (TDP) ratings up to 35 watts. This positions it for Intel's efficiency-focused T-series chips, including the Core Ultra 9 285T and Core Ultra 5 245T.

The Euler CMX marks a significant departure from Akasa's previous Euler models by accommodating standard Mini-ITX motherboards rather than the thinner Mini-ITX variants previously required. This expands hardware compatibility while maintaining compact dimensions of 248.6 × 205 × 78.5 mm (9.8 × 8.1 × 3.1 inches). Cooling is handled entirely through extruded aluminum fins integrated into the chassis structure, eliminating moving parts and achieving true silent operation.

Technical specifications confirm support for Intel LGA1851, LGA1700, LGA1200, and LGA115x sockets. Front-panel connectivity includes two USB 3.2 ports and two USB 2.0 ports. Power delivery uses a built-in 220W DC-to-DC converter, though an external AC-to-DC power brick (not included) is required. This configuration limits viable CPUs to Intel's 35W TDP models, excluding AMD Ryzen processors and Intel's higher-power desktop chips.

Market availability shows a $175 pre-VAT price point for the bare case through retailer Quiet PC, reflecting the premium for specialized small-form-factor (SFF) passive cooling solutions. For users seeking turnkey systems, Quiet PC offers pre-built configurations starting at $1,489 pre-VAT, pairing the chassis with an Intel Core Ultra 5 245T, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and a 500GB SSD. This pricing strategy highlights the niche positioning of fanless designs, where thermal constraints prioritize energy efficiency and silence over raw performance.

The Euler CMX arrives as Intel expands its Core Ultra mobile processor lineup, providing a viable enclosure for embedded applications and noise-sensitive environments. However, the 35W TDP ceiling restricts it to productivity and media playback workloads rather than gaming or compute-intensive tasks. Akasa's continued investment in passive cooling reflects sustained demand in industrial and specialty computing segments where reliability and silence outweigh cost considerations.
