Casio has expanded its Sheen collection with the SHW-5300CGL-7A and SHW-5300PGL-7A, two solar-powered analog watches emphasizing precision timekeeping through radio control technology. Currently exclusive to Japan with pre-orders open ahead of a February 2026 release, these models blend Casio's technical innovations with refined aesthetics targeting fashion-conscious professionals.

The core technological advantage lies in their Multi Band 6 radio synchronization, which automatically adjusts the time daily using atomic clock signals transmitted in Japan and China. When outside signal range, the movement maintains accuracy within ±15 seconds per month – outperforming standard quartz watches by nearly 50% in precision. This functionality pairs with Casio's Tough Solar charging system, which converts both natural and artificial light into power. The power cell requires no replacement under normal conditions, contrasting sharply with battery-dependent dress watches.

Both models share identical 10 ATM water resistance (suitable for swimming) and feature anti-reflective sapphire crystals protecting their dials. The rose gold ion-plated stainless steel cases frame gunmetal indices and a practical date window positioned at 3 o'clock. Differentiation comes through the leather straps: the SHW-5300CGL-7A uses a beige embossed pattern, while the SHW-5300PGL-7A opts for black leather with matching texturing. This material choice elevates the watches above Casio's typical resin bands, positioning them closer to traditional luxury timepieces.

Priced at ¥35,200 (~$224), these models sit above entry-level Casios but undercut Swiss solar hybrids by several hundred dollars. Their value proposition becomes clearer when compared to Casio's previous international Sheen release, the SHE-4554GYM-8A, which offered similar solar charging but lacked radio control and premium materials. Notably absent is Bluetooth connectivity – a deliberate omission preserving the analog purity favored by the target audience.

While Casio hasn't confirmed global availability, the company's history suggests potential expansion if Japanese sales meet targets. These watches will primarily appeal to buyers prioritizing maintenance-free operation and precision in a business-appropriate design. The combination of atomic clock accuracy, self-sustaining power, and premium materials creates a compelling alternative to mechanical dress watches requiring regular winding and servicing.
