The Opportunity

The role sits at the intersection of AI infrastructure, prompt engineering, and product development. You'll be building the voice AI infrastructure in LiveKit and owning the architecture of real-time voice agent systems, including orchestration, state management, latency optimization, and reliability.

What You'll Build

As the AI Agent Engineer, you'll:

• Design and own the architecture of real-time voice agent systems
• Develop end-to-end prompting strategy for voice agents
• Build testing and evaluation frameworks for voice agent performance
• Write and improve core AI prompting to cover more real-world scenarios
• Optimize ASR, STT, TTS, turn-taking, and state transitions
• Build scalable systems to support millions of voice interactions
• Migrate client implementations from legacy infrastructure
• Develop prompt and agent tooling with versioning and monitoring

The position offers a salary range of $200,000 to $300,000 plus 0.25% to 1% equity.
