Samsung has begun rolling out the fifth beta version of One UI 8.5 for its Galaxy S25 family, bringing an updated Bixby experience and the latest security enhancements to enrolled devices. The new firmware, ending in the build number ZZAN, includes the February 5, 2026 security patch level and weighs in at approximately 546-553MB.
Updated Bixby experience
The most notable addition in this beta release is the updated version of Bixby, Samsung's virtual assistant. While specific details about the changes haven't been fully disclosed, the update suggests Samsung is continuing to refine its AI assistant capabilities ahead of the official One UI 8.5 launch.
Global rollout continues
Following the pattern established with previous beta releases, the fifth build is being distributed across multiple regions including the United States, United Kingdom, India, Germany, and South Korea. This phased approach allows Samsung to gather feedback from diverse markets before the stable release.
One UI 8.5 nearing completion
This beta release appears to be part of Samsung's final preparations before the official launch of One UI 8.5. The company is expected to unveil the stable version alongside the Galaxy S26 family on February 25, 2026. After the new flagship devices hit the market, the update will begin rolling out to older Galaxy S models as well.
Beta program participation
Users who have enrolled their Galaxy S25 devices in Samsung's beta program can check for the update manually through Settings > Software update > Download and install. The beta program provides early access to new features and allows Samsung to identify and address any issues before the public release.
The February security patch included in this build addresses various vulnerabilities and improves overall system stability, ensuring that beta testers have access to the latest security protections while testing new features.

As Samsung continues to refine One UI 8.5, users can expect additional optimizations and feature tweaks in subsequent beta releases leading up to the official launch date.
