The Xiaomi Watch 5 is coming to Europe with Wear OS, a massive 930mAh battery, and advanced health sensors, with Czech pricing suggesting a €329 starting point.

The Xiaomi Watch 5, which debuted in China last December, is preparing for its European launch with pricing details now leaking from Czechia. According to a report from the Czech market, the global version of the smartwatch will run Wear OS and carry a price tag of CZK 7,990, which currently converts to approximately €329. The watch will be available in Juniper Green and black color options, with the base model lacking cellular connectivity.

While the Czech pricing covers the Wi-Fi-only version, a Polish comparison site suggests that an eSIM-equipped variant is also headed to European markets, giving consumers the option for standalone cellular functionality.

The Xiaomi Watch 5 brings several impressive specifications to the table, most notably its massive 930 mAh battery. This unusually large capacity for a smartwatch (all hail Si/C tech!) promises extended battery life that could significantly outperform many competitors in the segment. The device features a 1.54-inch AMOLED display with 480x480 resolution, 1,500-nit peak brightness, and an impressively thin 2.6mm round bezel.

Under the hood, the watch is powered by the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC, complemented by a power-saving BES2800 co-processor. This combination aims to deliver both performance and efficiency. The device includes Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity and boasts comprehensive health and fitness tracking capabilities, including a heart rate monitor with blood oxygen saturation measurement, ECG sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, barometer, and ambient light sensor.

One of the more innovative features is the EMG sensor, which can pick up electrical signals from the muscles in your hand and convert them into gestures for controlling the UI. This muscle-sensing technology could provide a unique interaction method compared to traditional touch controls.

The watch offers over 150 sport modes, catering to a wide range of athletic activities. It comes with 5 ATM water resistance, making it suitable for swimming and water-based activities. The device measures 47 x 47 x 12.3 mm and weighs 56g, positioning it as a substantial but not overly bulky smartwatch.

For European consumers, the €329 price point positions the Xiaomi Watch 5 as a competitive option in the Wear OS market, especially considering its large battery capacity and comprehensive feature set. The inclusion of cellular connectivity as an option further enhances its appeal for users who want true independence from their smartphones.

As Xiaomi expands its global smartwatch presence, the Watch 5 represents a significant step up in terms of both specifications and target market positioning. The combination of Wear OS, advanced health sensors, and the massive battery capacity could make it a compelling alternative to offerings from more established players in the smartwatch space.

The European launch timing remains unclear, but with pricing now leaking, an official announcement could be imminent. Xiaomi has been steadily expanding its wearable lineup globally, and the Watch 5 appears poised to be one of its most feature-complete offerings to date.
