Acer is expanding its mid-range Iconia tablet portfolio in the Indian market with the iM11-22M5G, a 5G-capable slate that upgrades the processor, display, and connectivity of last year’s 4G-only model while selling at a promotional price nearly half its official retail sticker.
Acer has introduced the Iconia iM11-22M5G, the latest addition to its budget-to-mid-range tablet line, available exclusively in the Indian market as of May 2026. This model replaces last year’s Iconia Tab iM11, which shipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 processor and only 4G LTE connectivity. The new variant addresses the most common complaint with its predecessor by adding sub-6GHz 5G support, alongside a newer 6nm octa-core processor, higher resolution display, and updated memory standards.
What's New
The iM11-22M5G centers its upgrades on connectivity and core performance. The biggest addition is full 5G support, complementing existing 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 radios, plus dual SIM slots for users who want to use the tablet as a secondary connected device. Power comes from the MediaTek 8791, a 6nm octa-core processor paired with the Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, the same graphics silicon used in the Dimensity 7050 chip found in mid-range slates like the Lenovo Tab P12. This is a step up from the Helio G99 in the 2025 Iconia Tab iM11, which used a slower Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
The display is another key upgrade: an 11.45-inch IPS LCD panel with 2,220 x 1,440 (2K) resolution, 90Hz maximum refresh rate, and 450 nits of peak brightness. The panel is housed in a metal chassis that measures 7.85mm thick and weighs 535 grams, making it slightly thinner than many competing 11-inch tablets. A 7,400mAh battery sits inside, though charging is limited to 18W, which will take roughly 2.5 hours to fully top up from empty.
Memory and storage meet current mid-range standards: 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, with expansion available via a microSD card slot. The tablet runs Android 15 out of the box, even though Google has already released Android 16 for flagship devices, a choice that suggests limited long-term OS update support.
Imaging hardware includes a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP main sensor and 2MP macro lens, plus an 8MP front-facing camera for video calls and selfies. Additional features include quad speakers, an integrated fingerprint scanner, and passive stylus support, though Acer does not include a stylus in the box.

How It Compares
Against its direct predecessor, the 2025 Iconia Tab iM11, the iM11-22M5G delivers measurable upgrades across all core categories. The move from Helio G99 to the 6nm MediaTek 8791 brings a ~15% CPU performance gain and a ~30% GPU performance gain, based on benchmark data for the Mali-G68 MC4 versus the G57 MC2. The addition of 5G connectivity makes the tablet viable for users who need always-on internet outside Wi-Fi ranges, a gap the previous 4G-only model could not fill for many buyers. The new 2K 90Hz display is also a step up from the 1080p 60Hz panel used in last year’s model, offering sharper text and smoother scrolling for daily use.
Against competitors in the Indian mid-range tablet market, the iM11-22M5G sits in a unique spot. The Lenovo Tab P12 uses the same Mali-G68 MC4 GPU as the Acer, but ships with a faster Dimensity 7050 CPU, 12GB of RAM, and a 12.7-inch display for a retail price of ~₹35,000 ($370). The Acer undercuts that by ~₹10,000 at its current promotional price, while offering similar graphics performance and a more compact form factor. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G retails for ~₹28,000 ($300) with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage, making the Acer’s LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 a meaningful advantage for multitasking and app load times.
Pricing is where the iM11-22M5G stands out most. Acer has set a maximum retail price (MRP) of ₹44,999 ($476) for the tablet, as listed on the Acer India official website, but it is currently selling for ₹25,499 ($270) across major Indian retailers. That is a 43% discount off MRP, and ~$30 cheaper than the 4G-only 2025 Iconia Tab iM11’s launch price of ~₹28,000 ($300). For context, the $270 price point puts it below most 5G-enabled tablets in the region, which typically start at ~$320.
Who It's For
The iM11-22M5G is aimed at budget-conscious buyers who need 5G connectivity without paying flagship prices. Students who want a device for note-taking (thanks to stylus support), streaming media (quad speakers, 90Hz display), and light productivity will find the 8GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 storage sufficient for multitasking between apps. The dual SIM slots and 5G support make it a good fit for gig workers or travelers who need a secondary device for navigation, video calls, and on-the-go internet access.
There are trade-offs to consider before buying. The 18W charging speed is slow for a 7,400mAh battery, so heavy users will need to charge overnight. The use of Android 15 at a time when Android 16 is already available suggests Acer will only provide one major OS update, if any, so buyers who want long-term software support should look elsewhere. The 450 nits of brightness is adequate for indoor use but struggles in direct sunlight, so outdoor use will be limited. The 2MP macro camera is also a placeholder feature that most users will never use, adding no real value to the package.
At the current promotional price of ₹25,499, the iM11-22M5G offers better value than almost any other 5G tablet in the Indian market. Once the promotional period ends and the price rises to the ₹44,999 MRP, it becomes far less competitive, sitting above better-specced options from Lenovo and Samsung. Buyers should only purchase at the current discounted rate, as the full MRP does not reflect the tablet’s mid-range hardware.
