OnePlus expands its budget Nord CE lineup in India with the Nord CE6 Lite, a device packing a massive 7,000mAh battery, 144Hz 6.72-inch LCD panel, and MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset, starting at INR 20,999 ($225).

OnePlus unveiled the Nord CE6 Lite in India on May 7, 2026, alongside the standard OnePlus Nord CE6 as part of its budget-focused Nord CE product line. The Lite variant sits below the base Nord CE6 in pricing and specs, targeting users who prioritize battery life and display smoothness over premium materials or high-end camera arrays.
The device sports a 6.72-inch LCD panel with FHD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, a step up from the 120Hz panels common in this price segment. It reaches 1000 nits in high brightness mode, sufficient for readable outdoor use in direct sunlight, and has a 240Hz touch sampling rate that reduces input lag for mobile gaming. LCD was chosen over OLED here, likely to keep costs down while still delivering high refresh rates, a trade-off that some users may prefer for reduced risk of burn-in and lower power consumption at static brightness levels.
Under the hood, the Nord CE6 Lite runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex system-on-chip, a mid-range 4nm processor designed for efficient daily performance and light gaming. It is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, with a microSD card slot available for storage expansion, a feature that has become increasingly rare in budget smartphones as brands push higher-capacity internal storage variants. The Dimensity 7400 Apex supports 5G connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4, covering all modern connectivity standards for a device in this class.
The standout spec is the 7,000mAh battery, which is 1,000-2,000mAh larger than most competitors in the sub-INR 25,000 segment. It supports 45W wired charging and 10W wired reverse charging, allowing users to top up accessories like wireless earbuds or smartwatches directly from the phone. OnePlus claims the large battery will deliver multi-day usage for light users, though heavy gaming or 5G use will still require daily charging.
The camera setup matches the standard Nord CE6: a 50MP OV50D40 main sensor paired with a 2MP monochrome auxiliary sensor for improved contrast in low-light shots, plus an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. This is a basic configuration typical of budget devices, with no ultrawide or telephoto lenses included.
Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a cost-effective alternative to in-display sensors that offers faster unlock speeds, stereo speakers, dual SIM support, GPS, and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. The phone runs Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 out of the box, with OnePlus's custom skin adding features like app cloning, gaming mode optimizations, and privacy dashboards on top of stock Android functionality.

OnePlus shared the above render, used as the social media preview for the launch, on its official Twitter account to highlight the Hyper Black and Vivid Mint color options. The Nord CE6 Lite goes on sale May 12, 2026, in these two colorways. Pricing is tiered by memory configuration: the 6GB RAM/128GB storage model costs INR 20,999 (approximately $225), the 8GB/128GB variant is INR 22,999 ($245), and the top-end 8GB/256GB model retails for INR 25,999 ($275). It will be available through the official OnePlus India online store, Amazon India, and select offline retail partners across the country.
The Nord CE6 Lite fits into OnePlus's broader strategy of capturing budget buyers in India, the brand's second-largest market globally. By offering a massive battery, high refresh rate display, and expandable storage at a sub-$300 price point, OnePlus is positioning the device against rivals like the Realme Narzo 70 Pro, Redmi Note 14, and Samsung Galaxy F15. Unlike some competitors that omit microSD slots or use slower UFS 2.2 storage, the Nord CE6 Lite includes both, reducing long-term lock-in to higher internal storage tiers.
OxygenOS 16 offers tighter integration with other OnePlus ecosystem devices like the Nord Buds 3, Nord Watch 2, and OnePlus Pad 4, allowing for features like quick device pairing, cross-device clipboard sharing, and unified notification management. However, as an Android device, it avoids the strict ecosystem lock-in of Apple's iOS, letting users pair third-party accessories or switch to other Android devices without losing access to purchased apps or cloud data. The IP64 rating and side-mounted fingerprint scanner are practical, durable choices for budget buyers who may not prioritize premium materials but need reliable daily performance.
