Amazfit's latest T-Rex 3 update introduces Equivalent Pace tracking, third-party sensor compatibility, and map enhancements for outdoor activities.

Amazfit has released software version 4.3.8.2 for its rugged T-Rex 3 smartwatch, delivering targeted improvements for fitness tracking and navigation. This marks the second significant update since the watch's transition to Zepp OS 5.0 last month.
Key additions include Equivalent Pace and Average Equivalent Pace metrics for Outdoor Running and Trail Running activities, providing runners with more nuanced performance data. Indoor cyclists gain expanded hardware compatibility, with support for third-party speed sensors, cadence sensors, and power meters. HYROX Race participants can now pair Stryd sensors directly with the watch.
The update enhances navigation functionality through optimizations to the Terrain Map app and workout track page. By default, activities now display in Advance Up view, though users can customize this in workout settings. Mid-workout voice memo recording is available in select regions, though Amazfit hasn't specified supported countries.
Compared to the T-Rex 3 Pro update bearing the same version number, this release shares sensor support features but differs in its focus on map optimizations and running metrics. Additional refinements include improved screenshot functionality, altitude algorithm adjustments, and the option to skip daily Zepp Coach workouts.
This update primarily benefits outdoor athletes and gym competitors who require precise environmental data and expanded sensor integration. At $249.99, the T-Rex 3 positions itself as a mid-tier rugged smartwatch alternative to Garmin's Forerunner series.
The rollout begins this week for users in the US, Canada, and China, with global availability expected in coming weeks barring technical issues. Users can manually check for the update through the Zepp app.
