Anker has launched its Soundcore Nebula P1i portable projector in the US and Japan, completing the global rollout of this versatile entertainment device first announced in early 2026. Available immediately through Amazon Japan for 49,990 yen ($369 USD stateside), the P1i combines several thoughtful design innovations that differentiate it in the crowded portable projector category.

At the core of the 3.3kg (7.3 lbs) device is a 1080P projection system rated at 380 ANSI lumens. The all-glass optical system enables short-throw flexibility, projecting a 40-inch image from just 1.11 meters (3.6 feet) or scaling up to 150 inches at 4.15 meters (13.6 feet). Automated keystone correction and focus eliminate manual calibration, while the fully sealed optical chamber prevents dust accumulation that typically plagues projectors over time.

The standout feature remains the integrated 20-watt stereo speakers with Dolby Audio support. Unlike fixed-position competitors, the P1i's speakers physically rotate through 90 degrees horizontally and 200 degrees vertically, allowing users to direct audio toward seating areas regardless of projector placement. This acoustic flexibility complements the Nebula Cast wireless system that supports both Google Cast for Android devices and proprietary screen mirroring for iPhones.

Running Google TV, the projector provides native access to streaming platforms including Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video without external devices. Physical connectivity includes HDMI input and USB-A ports for external media playback. Voice control operates through Google Assistant integration.

Compared to Anker's previous Nebula projectors, the P1i represents a notable upgrade in both brightness (predecessors typically offered 200-300 lumens) and audio flexibility. Against competitors like XGIMI's portable models, the P1i's rotating speaker system and sealed optics offer distinct practical advantages for users prioritizing audio quality and long-term reliability in varied environments.

This projector suits consumers needing adaptable entertainment in temporary spaces like dorm rooms, camping trips, or backyard setups. The combination of self-contained audio, simplified calibration, and streaming integration makes it appealing for buyers avoiding complex AV setups. However, those requiring ultra-bright projection exceeding 500 lumens for daytime use should consider higher-end models despite the increased cost and bulk.

The Nebula P1i is currently available on Amazon US and Amazon Japan.
