EA's Spring Sale drops Battlefield V to $2.49, causing concurrent players to jump from 3,700 to 16,900 on Steam as fans rediscover the WWII shooter's large-scale combat and destructible maps.
The 2018 World War II shooter Battlefield V has dropped from its regular $49.99 price to just $2.49 as part of EA's Spring Sale, triggering a massive 350% jump in concurrent player count. Steam concurrent player peaks rocketed from roughly 3,700 before the discount to 16,900 today.

Eight years after its rocky launch, the DICE-developed title delivers classic Battlefield chaos: 64-player battles, full map destruction, and an attrition system that forces careful ammo and health management. Core gameplay includes responsive gunplay with weapon-specific recoil patterns and handling and class-based roles — Assault, Medic, Support, and Recon — each with unique gadgets and weapons.
Battlefield V features single-player and online modes, including Conquest, Breakthrough, Team Deathmatch, Grand Operations, and Firestorm, appealing to different playstyles like territorial control, battle-royale, and linear assault.

Despite newer entries in the series, Battlefield V is still loved for its pure large-scale warfare, gunplay, and teamwork. The game runs smoothly on modern hardware and continues pulling thousands daily, even without new updates.
Though Battlefield V had a rough launch, today it is praised for its gunplay, destructible maps, and immersive WWII multiplayer experience. On the other hand, some critics say the attrition system can feel punishing, and occasional balance quirks persist. Review-wise, it has received about 261,500 reviews on Steam, and 70% of these reviews are positive.
The $2.49 deal will expire on March 19, 2026. Disclaimer: Notebookcheck is not responsible for price changes carried out by retailers. The discounted price or deal mentioned in this item was available at the time of writing and may be subject to time restrictions and/or limited unit availability.
