Kiosk 27 brings analog film photography to iPhone with RAW processing and 27-shot limit

Kiosk 27 is a new iPhone camera app that aims to recreate the experience of shooting with analog film, complete with sensor-RAW processing and a limited 27-shot "film reel."

The app stands out by using actual sensor-RAW data rather than simply applying filters to standard camera output. This approach, combined with the developer's 20+ years of analog photography experience, creates a more authentic film-like appearance. Kiosk 27 includes standard camera features like timer, flash, and focus lock, but adds film-specific touches such as date stamps, mist effects, and adjustable grain and bloom settings.

True to its film inspiration, the app first captures a negative image before rendering it into a positive on-device. Users are limited to 27 shots per "roll," though the digital nature allows going beyond this limit if desired. The app also includes a home screen widget to track your current roll.

Kiosk 27 is available on the App Store for $12.99 with no ads, in-app purchases, or subscriptions. It requires iOS 18.6 or later and works on iPhones. The developer notes that Camera Control support for launching the app would be a welcome addition.
