Lenovo has updated its budget 15-inch gaming laptop with a visually refreshed LOQ 15 model featuring a new Surge Green finish, while maintaining the same core specifications as its predecessor.
Lenovo has quietly refreshed its budget 15-inch gaming laptop range with a new version of the LOQ 15. While the company first updated the LOQ 15 back in January 2026 during CES 2026, the new Surge Green variant has now become available globally, completing its rollout to North America after launching in Europe earlier this year.
The new model, designated as the LOQ 15AHP11, represents primarily a visual refresh rather than a substantial hardware upgrade compared to the LOQ 15AHP10 that was reviewed nearly a year ago. The most notable change is the introduction of a Surge Green finish that Lenovo has paired with contrasting black keyboard and black display bezels. The rear-facing ports are now surrounded by a black trim as well, creating a more cohesive design aesthetic. The Surge Green color extends across the entire laptop chassis and even onto an optional 2.4 GHz wireless mouse that can be purchased as a matching accessory.
From a specifications perspective, the new LOQ 15 maintains the same hardware configuration options as its predecessor. Buyers can configure the laptop with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050, RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 (8 GB) laptop GPU, paired with either 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM. All configurations come with a 60 Wh battery and the same Ryzen 7 250 APU featuring 8 Zen 4 CPU cores and 16 threads.
The display remains unchanged as well, continuing to feature a 15.3-inch IPS panel that combines a 1,920 x 1,200-pixel resolution with a 165 Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB color space coverage. However, the brightness remains limited to 300 nits, which may be insufficient for well-lit environments.
For potential buyers, the refresh represents a purely aesthetic choice rather than a performance upgrade. The previous LOQ 15AHP10 model is currently available on Amazon for $1,099, making it a more budget-friendly option for those primarily concerned with performance rather than appearance. The new Surge Green model, with its more distinctive look, commands a premium price across different regions: CAD 2,269 in Canada, $1,644.98 in the United States, £1,600 in the UK, and €1,589-€1,899 in the Eurozone.
This refresh positions the LOQ 15 as an attractive option for gamers who value both performance and personalization. The color variety gives Lenovo an edge in a market where budget gaming laptops often blend into the background with generic black designs. The Surge Green option, particularly when paired with the matching wireless mouse, creates a cohesive gaming setup that stands out visually while maintaining the same solid performance characteristics as the original model.
For those considering this laptop, the key decision factors remain the same as with the previous version: the balance between gaming performance and portability, the quality of the display within its brightness limitations, and the value proposition compared to other budget gaming options in the market. The color refresh simply adds another option for consumers who want their device to make a visual statement alongside its gaming capabilities.
