Lenovo has launched the ThinkBook 14+ and 16+ 2026 models in China, featuring AMD Ryzen 7 H 255 processors, high-refresh displays, and a TGX port for external GPU connectivity.
Lenovo has officially introduced two new AMD-powered laptops in the Chinese market: the ThinkBook 14+ 2026 and ThinkBook 16+ 2026. These business-focused machines target professionals who need strong integrated graphics performance but also want the flexibility to connect an external GPU for demanding workloads.

What's New
Both laptops are powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 H 255 processor, which is essentially a rebadged version of the Ryzen 7 8745H from the Hawk Point lineup. This APU includes Radeon 780M integrated graphics, capable of handling casual gaming at 1080p resolution and creative tasks like video editing and 3D modeling. However, the standout feature is the TGX graphics card interface, which provides a direct connection for external GPU setups.
The TGX port is functionally similar to OCuLink, offering higher bandwidth than Thunderbolt-based eGPU solutions. This allows users to connect a desktop graphics card enclosure for near-native GPU performance, making these laptops suitable for users who need portability during the day but full desktop graphics power at their desk.

Display Options
The 14+ model features a 14.5-inch display with 3072x1920 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits brightness. The 16+ steps up to a 16-inch panel with 3200x2000 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and the same 500 nits brightness. Both support Dolby Vision, cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and include multiple eye protection features.
Core Specifications
Memory and storage are identical across both models:
- Up to 8TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage
- 32GB LPDDR5x RAM running at 7500MT/s
Port Selection
Beyond the TGX port, both laptops include:
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports
- 2x USB4 ports with 140W Power Delivery (compatible with 240W cables like the Ugreen model currently selling for $17.99 on Amazon)
- 1x Ethernet port
- 1x 3.5mm audio jack
- 1x SD card reader
Additional Features
Both models carry MIL-STD-810H durability certification, include a 90Wh battery, support WiFi 6, and are compatible with Lenovo's MagicBay accessory ecosystem for modular expansions like additional storage or connectivity options.
How It Compares
The design closely resembles the already-available ThinkBook 16p G6, but with AMD processors instead of Intel. The TGX port sets these apart from most competitors in the business laptop space, as external GPU support typically requires Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 with a less direct connection path. Compared to the Intel-based ThinkBook 16p G6, the AMD models offer better integrated graphics performance from the Radeon 780M, though CPU performance in multi-threaded workloads may vary.
Against other AMD business laptops like the HP EliteBook 800 series or Dell Latitude 7000 series, the ThinkBook 14+/16+ offer higher RAM speeds (7500MT/s vs typical 6400MT/s) and the unique TGX eGPU capability. The displays also push higher resolution and refresh rates than typical business laptop screens.
Pricing and Availability
The ThinkBook 14+ 2026 is available for pre-order in China at CNY 5,999 (approximately $861 USD), while the ThinkBook 16+ 2026 retails for CNY 6,199 (about $890 USD). Lenovo has not announced global availability or pricing yet, though the company typically releases ThinkBook models in international markets within a few months of the China launch.
For professionals considering these laptops, the TGX eGPU support offers a compelling upgrade path. Users can start with the integrated Radeon 780M for everyday tasks and casual gaming, then add an external GPU later for machine learning, 3D rendering, or high-end gaming without replacing the entire system.
