OnePlus introduces the Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V smartphones featuring unprecedented 9,000mAh batteries in slim designs, reshaping expectations for mobile endurance.

OnePlus has fundamentally changed the battery game with its new Turbo series. The just-announced Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V smartphones pack 9,000mAh batteries – the largest capacity ever in mainstream smartphones – while maintaining remarkably slim 8.5mm profiles and reasonable 215g weights. This breakthrough delivers staggering endurance: up to 25.6 hours of TikTok streaming or 10+ hours of intensive gaming per charge.
The devices strategically target different performance tiers within OnePlus's ecosystem. The flagship Turbo 6 ($330-$440) features Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, while the more affordable Turbo 6V ($270-$340) uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Both leverage specialized co-processors: the Turbo 6 includes a Fengchi Game Kernel for 165fps gaming and Wi-Fi enhancement chip, while the 6V retains only the touch response booster.
Display technology showcases another divergence. The Turbo 6 sports a 6.78-inch 165Hz OLED panel with ProXDR and HDR Vivid certification, while the Turbo 6V settles for a still-respectable 144Hz refresh rate. Both share 1,800-nit peak brightness and advanced 3,840Hz PWM dimming for reduced eye strain.
The charging ecosystem deserves special attention. Both support OnePlus's 80W SuperVOOC standard (requiring proprietary chargers) or 55W via universal PPS chargers. The 27W reverse charging capability effectively transforms either device into a power bank – a practical ecosystem advantage for OnePlus accessory owners.

Camera systems take a pragmatic approach with identical setups: 50MP main sensors with OIS plus basic 16MP selfie cameras and auxiliary 2MP modules. Connectivity reflects cost differentiation – the Turbo 6 gets Wi-Fi 7 while the 6V uses Wi-Fi 6, though both share Bluetooth 5.3 with high-resolution codec support. Notably absent are 3.5mm jacks or microSD slots, reinforcing OnePlus's cloud storage ecosystem.
IP66/68/69 ratings provide comprehensive water resistance, though display protection details remain undisclosed. Optical fingerprint sensors handle biometrics instead of ultrasonic alternatives found in premium competitors.
Available exclusively in China initially through Oppo's store, these devices signal OnePlus's regional strategy divergence. While global availability remains unconfirmed, the imminent Nord 6 suggests separate product trajectories – the Turbo line potentially remaining an Asia-focused endurance specialist. This regional fragmentation creates ecosystem lock-in considerations; international users must weigh import costs against the unique battery advantages.
Pricing starts at CNY 1,900 ($270) for the Turbo 6V and CNY 2,300 ($330) for the Turbo 6, with early-bird discounts reducing costs by approximately $30. This positions them as premium mid-rangers that sacrifice camera versatility for unprecedented power longevity – a calculated tradeoff that redefines what's possible in smartphone form factors.
