Oppo's compact tablet appears on Geekbench with flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, 12GB RAM, and Android 16 ahead of expected April launch.

A new Oppo device with model number 'OPD2515' has appeared on Geekbench, strongly suggesting the imminent arrival of the Oppo Pad Mini, the company's upcoming compact Android tablet. The listing reveals impressive specifications that position this device as a premium offering in the compact tablet segment.

According to the Geekbench listing, the Oppo Pad Mini will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, Qualcomm's latest flagship chipset built on a 3nm process. This octa-core processor is positioned just below the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which powers high-end devices like the recently released Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5. The tablet comes equipped with 12GB of RAM and runs Android 16 out of the box.

In benchmark performance, the Oppo Pad Mini achieves 2,762 points in single-core and 9,037 points in multi-core CPU tests. For context, these scores are slightly behind the OnePlus Pad 3, which uses the previous-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The OnePlus Pad 3 outperforms the Pad Mini by approximately 14% in single-core performance, while multi-core results remain broadly comparable with only about a 3% gap.

Recent leaks suggest the Oppo Pad Mini will feature an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, making it particularly well-suited for productivity tasks and media consumption. The tablet is also expected to pack an 8,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support, ensuring all-day usage with quick top-ups when needed.

This launch appears to be part of Oppo's broader tablet strategy, as the company is also expected to introduce the Pad 5 Pro alongside the Pad Mini. The Pad 5 Pro will serve as the flagship offering, powered by the even more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

The Oppo Pad Mini is scheduled to launch on April 21 in China, positioning it as a strong competitor in the premium compact tablet market. With its combination of flagship processing power, OLED display technology, and substantial battery capacity, the device aims to challenge established players in this increasingly competitive segment.
