Leaked renders reveal the global Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra will launch at MWC with different color options and slightly reduced battery capacity compared to Chinese models.

New leaked renders have surfaced showing the global variants of Xiaomi's upcoming flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, ahead of their expected launch at Mobile World Congress in early March.

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, Xiaomi plans to introduce two members of its 17-series to international markets, with Europe receiving them just before MWC (March 2-5) and India getting them in early March. The vanilla Xiaomi 17 and the premium Xiaomi 17 Ultra (including the Leica Edition) will be available globally, while the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models will remain exclusive to the Chinese market.

Color Options for Global Markets

The leaked images reveal the colorways consumers can expect when the devices launch internationally:

Xiaomi 17 colors:

  • Blue
  • Green (new for global market)
  • Black

The global Xiaomi 17 notably won't include the Pink variant that was available in China, while gaining the Green option that was previously China-exclusive.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra colors:

  • Starry Green
  • White
  • Black

The Chinese version of the 17 Ultra also came in Purple, which won't be available globally. The Leica Edition, which features exclusive color options including Black and Off White, isn't pictured in the leaks.

Battery Capacity Adjustment

One significant change for the global Xiaomi 17 Ultra involves its battery capacity. While the Chinese model features a substantial 6,800mAh battery, the international version will reportedly come with a 6,000mAh unit. Interestingly, this reduction won't result in a thinner device - the global model will maintain the same 8.29mm thickness as its Chinese counterpart, with an expected weight of 223g. The Leica Edition will be slightly thicker at 8.46mm and heavier at 230g.

Pricing Information

Previous leaks suggest the Xiaomi 17 will be priced at €1,100 for the 512GB storage variant, which would imply a €1,000 price tag for the 256GB base model. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra with 512GB storage is expected to cost €1,500. These prices mirror those of last year's Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra, which also launched globally at MWC 2025.

The global launch strategy appears to be following a similar pattern to previous years, with Xiaomi using MWC as a platform to introduce its flagship devices to international markets while keeping certain variants exclusive to China.

For consumers waiting for these devices, the leaks provide valuable insight into what to expect in terms of design options and pricing, though official confirmation from Xiaomi is still pending.
