Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max to Feature Different Periscope Telephoto Setup

According to a new rumor from a tipster on X, Xiaomi's upcoming 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will feature a significant change in their camera systems. Both devices are expected to use the same 200MP periscope telephoto camera, but with an 85mm focal length instead of the 115mm focal length found in the current 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models.

This change means the optical zoom will drop from 5x to approximately 3x or 3.5x. However, Xiaomi will likely market the higher-resolution sensor's "lossless" digital zoom capabilities, potentially advertising zoom levels up to 6x, 7x, or beyond to offset the reduction in optical zoom.
