Overview
Validators are the backbone of PoS and PoA networks. They run specialized software that checks if new transactions follow the network's rules and then bundle them into blocks.
Responsibilities
- Verification: Ensuring transactions are valid and not double-spent.
- Block Production: Proposing new blocks to be added to the chain.
- Voting: Participating in consensus to agree on the state of the ledger.
Selection
Validators are typically chosen based on the amount of tokens they have staked (PoS) or their pre-verified identity (PoA).
