Casio launches its premium MRGB2000KT3A G-Shock in the US, featuring hand-engraved titanium and Japanese sword-inspired design at a record price point for the brand.

Casio has officially launched its ultra-premium G-Shock MRGB2000KT3A in the United States through its online store, marking the watch's North American debut after earlier releases in Japan, UK, and Germany. Priced at $8,000, this represents the most expensive timepiece currently offered by Casio globally, targeting luxury watch collectors with its fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology.

The MRGB2000KT3A distinguishes itself through meticulous Japanese artistry. Its titanium bezel features a phoenix motif hand-engraved by master metalsmith Kobayashi Masao, inspired by the tsuba (sword guard) of traditional Japanese katana. The design incorporates kurogane iro – a blue-green iron oxide hue – across its Durasoft rubber strap and dial, complemented by copper-toned accents on titanium components. An arrowhead pattern on the dial reinforces the samurai aesthetic.

Technically, the watch maintains G-Shock's rugged reputation with 200-meter water resistance alongside premium features. It utilizes Casio's Tough Solar charging system, eliminating battery replacements through light-powered operation. Bluetooth connectivity enables automatic time synchronization via the Casio Watches app, while Multiband 6 atomic timekeeping ensures global accuracy. The analog display shows dual time zones simultaneously, with primary hands indicating local time and a subdial tracking a second zone.

With only 800 units produced worldwide, availability remains extremely limited. Casio hasn't disclosed regional allocation specifics, though the US release appears online-exclusive for now, with no confirmation regarding availability at Casio's New York flagship store. This positions the MRGB2000KT3A as a collector's item rather than mass-market product.

At $8,000, the MRGB2000KT3A commands approximately double the price of Casio's previous MR-G flagship models like the MRG-B2000B. While competing against entry-level Swiss luxury watches, it offers distinct value through its hand-finished elements, cultural significance, and G-Shock's signature durability – a combination absent in traditional luxury timepieces. This model will primarily appeal to collectors valuing exclusive craftsmanship within a technically advanced, shock-resistant platform.
