Oppo K15 Pro Series Revealed: Gaming Phones with Built-in Cooling Fans

Oppo has officially unveiled key specifications for its upcoming K15 Pro series, confirming that both models will feature built-in cooling fans and LED lighting on the rear panel. The gaming-focused lineup, set to launch in China tomorrow, includes the standard K15 Pro and the higher-end K15 Pro+ variant.

The Oppo K15 Pro will be powered by the Dimensity 8500 Super chipset and feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The device packs a substantial 7,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. For photography, it includes a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 16MP front camera.

A standout feature is the active cooling system, which includes a built-in fan with an IPX9 water resistance rating. The phone also carries an IP69 rating for overall durability. Storage options include 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB configurations, with color choices of Cyber Wings, Golden Legend, Origin Gray, and Photodust.

The K15 Pro+ steps up with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s SoC and a larger 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It features an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for enhanced security. The battery capacity increases to 8,000mAh with 100W wired charging support. The camera setup remains similar with a 50MP main sensor and 8MP ultrawide, complemented by a 16MP front camera.

Like its sibling, the K15 Pro+ includes the built-in cooling fan with IPX9 rating and carries an IP69 durability rating. It will be available in Cyber Wings, Origin Gray, and Photodust color options with the same storage configurations as the standard model.

Both devices feature LED lighting on the rear panel, adding to their gaming aesthetic. Oppo will reveal pricing and availability details tomorrow, with the launch expected to target the Chinese market initially.

The inclusion of active cooling fans in both models signals Oppo's focus on sustained performance during extended gaming sessions, addressing thermal throttling concerns that often affect high-performance smartphones.
