We get early hands-on with Realme's P4 Power, a phone that packs an enormous battery without the bulk you'd expect.

We've managed to get our hands on the Realme P4 Power a few days before its official January 29 unveiling, and the first thing that strikes you is how normal it feels for a phone with such an enormous battery.

The Realme P4 Power ships with the essentials: a protective case, USB-C to USB-A cable, and an 80W SuperVOOC charger. The package is straightforward and practical - no unnecessary extras, just what you need to get started.

What makes this phone remarkable is the 10,001mAh battery packed inside a body that doesn't feel like a power bank. In an era where manufacturers chase ever-thinner designs with names like "Edge," "Slim," and "Air," the P4 Power takes a different approach. It's not as thin as those trendy ultra-slim phones, but that's precisely the point - it's more practical.

The semi-transparent crystal rear panel gives the phone a distinctive look. Our review unit comes in Power Silver, with Flash Orange also available. The design is eye-catching without being over-the-top, and the transparency effect adds a modern touch.

On the front, you get a generous 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. This combination of large screen real estate and high refresh rate makes for an excellent viewing and gaming experience. The AMOLED technology ensures deep blacks and vibrant colors, while the 144Hz refresh rate provides silky-smooth scrolling and animations.

Under the hood, the P4 Power runs Realme UI 7.0, which brings the latest Android features and optimizations. Realme is promising 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches - a commitment that's becoming increasingly important as phones stay in use longer.

The phone is launching first in the Indian market, which makes sense given Realme's strong presence there. However, as some commenters have noted, Realme's availability in Europe has become limited to mainly low-end models, with better devices often not distributed widely.

What's particularly impressive is how Realme has managed to fit such a massive battery without making the phone feel overweight or unwieldy. Many phones with large batteries sacrifice ergonomics for capacity, but the P4 Power strikes a balance that makes it practical for daily use.

This approach represents a refreshing alternative in a market obsessed with thinness. While slim phones look impressive, they often come with compromises in battery life and durability. The P4 Power suggests that there's still room for phones that prioritize practicality and longevity over chasing the thinnest possible profile.

The 80W SuperVOOC charging ensures that even with a 10,001mAh battery, you won't be tethered to an outlet for long. Fast charging technology has advanced significantly, and 80W charging can replenish a large battery in a reasonable timeframe.

As we await the official launch, the Realme P4 Power stands out as a phone that makes a clear statement: sometimes, more battery is better than less phone. In a world where many users complain about battery life, this device could be exactly what the market needs.

The combination of a large, high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, substantial battery capacity, fast charging, and a practical design philosophy makes the P4 Power an intriguing option for users who value endurance and usability over extreme slimness.

We'll have more detailed impressions and benchmarks once the phone officially launches, but the early unboxing suggests Realme has created something genuinely different in the current smartphone landscape.
