Xiaomi's upcoming entry-level smartphones, the Redmi A7 and A7 Pro, have cleared regulatory hurdles in Thailand and Europe with certifications confirming their 4G-only status and key specifications.

The Redmi A7 has officially received certification from Thailand's NBTC telecommunications authority under model number 26020RNB4A, following the earlier certification of its sibling model, the Redmi A7 Pro. This regulatory approval confirms Xiaomi's plans to launch both devices simultaneously in global markets.
Both smartphones will operate exclusively on 4G LTE networks according to Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) filings, positioning them as affordable connectivity solutions in regions where 5G infrastructure remains limited. The devices may appear in certain markets rebranded as Poco C81 and Poco C81 Pro, continuing Xiaomi's strategy of tailoring product names to regional preferences.
Hardware specifications indicate these are firmly entry-level devices. At least one variant will feature the Unisoc T7250 chipset paired with 4GB RAM—a configuration designed for basic task handling. The processor combines two Arm Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 1.8GHz with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores built on a 12nm manufacturing process.
The display will reportedly measure 6.9 inches diagonally with a 720p HD+ LCD panel, notable for supporting a 120Hz refresh rate—an unusual feature for budget devices that could improve scrolling smoothness. Storage options may extend to 128GB, while imaging capabilities include a primary 50MP rear camera and 13MP front-facing sensor.
Powering the devices will be substantial 6,000mAh batteries supporting 15W wired charging, prioritizing longevity over fast charging speeds. This aligns with the target demographic's need for reliable all-day performance without premium features.
As entry-level models, competitive pricing will be essential for market success. The certifications suggest an imminent launch, with more specification details expected to emerge as release dates approach. The dual certification process indicates Xiaomi intends synchronized availability across multiple regions.
