Redmi has confirmed key details about the standard Turbo 5, including its Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, 6.59-inch AMOLED display, and massive 7,560mAh battery with 100W charging.

The Redmi Turbo 5 series is set to launch in China tomorrow, and ahead of the official unveiling, Redmi has been gradually revealing specifications for both models in the lineup. After recently confirming details about the Turbo 5 Max, the company has now shared information about the standard Turbo 5 model.
According to Redmi's official Weibo posts, the Turbo 5 will be powered by the Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, which represents MediaTek's latest mid-to-high-end offering. This processor will be paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring fast performance and quick app loading times. The phone will also feature a 3D ice-sealed vapor chamber cooling system designed to improve heat dissipation during intensive gaming sessions or prolonged use.
On the display front, the Turbo 5 will sport a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel, offering vibrant colors and deep blacks typical of OLED technology. The battery configuration is particularly noteworthy - Redmi is equipping the device with a massive 7,560mAh battery, which is significantly larger than what most competitors offer in this segment. This substantial battery capacity will be complemented by 100W wired fast charging support, allowing users to quickly top up their device. Additionally, the phone supports 27W reverse wired charging, enabling it to function as a power bank for other devices.
In terms of design, Redmi has revealed that the Turbo 5 will feature a metal frame construction, slim display bezels for an immersive viewing experience, and a glass back panel. The company has shared images showing the phone in white and mint green color options, suggesting a focus on clean, modern aesthetics.
Pricing for the Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to be around CNY 2,000 (approximately $290), positioning it as a competitive option in the mid-range segment. This aggressive pricing strategy, combined with the impressive specifications, could make the Turbo 5 an attractive choice for budget-conscious consumers in China.

The Turbo 5 series launch comes at a time when the mid-range smartphone market in China is becoming increasingly competitive, with brands like Realme, iQOO, and Honor all vying for market share with their own value-oriented offerings. Redmi's strategy of packing high-end features like large batteries, fast charging, and capable processors into affordable packages has proven successful in the past, and the Turbo 5 appears to continue this trend.
The official launch event is scheduled for tomorrow, where we can expect to see final pricing, availability details, and potentially some additional features or specifications that Redmi has yet to reveal. Given the teaser campaign's focus on performance and battery life, it's likely that these aspects will be central to Redmi's marketing message for the Turbo 5 series.
