Samsung's new Galaxy A57 and A37 are coming next week, but current deals on last year's models, the S25 FE, and competing flagships from OnePlus and Google make for some tough choices.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 earlier this week, but these two phones won't actually be available until April 9. You can pre-order an A57 (8/128GB) for $550 or an A37 (6/128GB) for $450. While we wait for the new arrivals, let's explore what else is available in the current market.

Samsung's New A-Series: What's Coming Next Week

The Galaxy A57 5G features a 6.7" display with 1080p+ resolution, powered by the Exynos 1680 chipset. It comes in 256GB storage options with either 8GB or 12GB RAM, priced at ₹56,999 and ₹62,499 respectively. The A37 5G offers a slightly smaller form factor with similar specs but different storage configurations.

Last Year's Models Still Hold Value

Interestingly, last year's Galaxy A56 is available for $165 less than the A57. You'll lose out on the new slimmer build (the A56 is 7.4mm, 198g vs. 6.9mm, 179g for the A57), the new chipset (Exynos 1580 vs. 1680), and the upgraded water resistance rating (the new model is rated IP68). However, the price difference might make it worth considering.

The Galaxy S25 FE: Better Value Than Expected

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE should probably be your go-to option. The 8/128GB model costs less than $50 more than the starting price of the A57. With the FE, you get an LTPO display (1-120Hz) with the same 6.7" diagonal and 1080p+ resolution. It also has a flagship-class chipset, the Exynos 2400, and a dedicated telephoto camera (8MP 3x/75mm). Plus, wireless charging for the 4,900mAh battery on top of the 45W wired charging (vs. 5,000mAh battery and 45W wired-only charging for the A57).

The Galaxy A57 and S25 FE are in different categories, and the comparison isn't in favor of the A57.

OnePlus 15 Series Price Drops

When it rains, it pours. The OnePlus 15R had been holding steady for weeks now, but its price just dropped by $50. That's not much, but it means that the 12/256GB model is $650. The 15R has a 6.83" 1272p+ 165Hz display – it's not an LTPO panel, but it does have Dolby Vision. Unlike last year's 13R, this one doesn't have a telephoto lens, but it does have a massive 7,400mAh battery with 80W charging. And a more recent flagship-class chipset to boot, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.

The flagship OnePlus 15 is also on sale, despite weeks of no price movement until now. This one has a 6.78" 1272p+ LTPO display (1-165Hz) and the top Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. It has a telephoto camera too, a 50MP 3.5x/80mm unit. The battery is 7,300mAh with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Google Pixel 10 Series Discounts

The Google Pixel 10 also encroaches on Galaxy A57 territory. It's a smaller phone with a 6.3" display (1080p+, 120Hz), but its battery is the same size (4,970mAh) and offers both 30W wired and 15W wireless charging. We haven't tested the Exynos 1680 yet, but the Tensor G5 should have a performance lead. And this phone has a 10.8MP 5x/112mm periscope, beating even the S25 FE in terms of focal length (the A57 has no tele camera, of course).

The Google Pixel 10 Pro is pricier, but it offers a more premium experience with a sharper 6.3" LTPO display (1280p+, 120Hz). Crucially, the Pro has a more capable 48MP 5x/113mm periscope, a 48MP ultra-wide (vs. 12MP on the A57 and the S25 FE), and a 42MP selfie camera (vs. 12MP).

Pixel 9a: Budget-Friendly Option

As a cheaper 6.3" option, there's the Pixel 9a from last year. It has the older Tensor G4 chipset, which is also used for the 10a. The phone has both wired (23W) and wireless (7.5W) charging for its 5,100mAh battery. There's a 48MP main, a 13MP ultra-wide, and a 13MP selfie camera on board.

Pixel 10 Pro XL for Larger Displays

For those wanting a larger display, the Pixel 10 Pro XL offers a 6.8" display (1344p+, 120Hz LTPO) and a 5,200mAh battery (45W wired, 25W wireless). It has the same camera setup as the 10 Pro. The Pro models are flagships, however, and are priced as such, so they are not direct competitors to the Galaxy A57.

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro: An Interesting Alternative

It's not just the A57 that finds itself in an awkward spot – the new Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is also competing against an older, more premium model. Right now, the phone starts at $500. Its 6.83" 1260p+ 144Hz display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, and 5,080mAh battery (50W wired-only charging) make it an interesting alternative to the Galaxy A57. The (4a) Pro is equipped with a 50MP 3.5x/80mm telephoto module, which helps it stand out against even the S25 FE.

Nothing Phone (3): Premium Flagship at Mid-Range Price

But that's not what we meant – the Nothing Phone (3) from last year is down to $600 for a 12/256GB model. A 12/256GB (4a) Pro also costs $600. Like we said, awkward. The old flagship boasts a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. It has a smaller 6.67" 1260p+ 120Hz display and a 5,150mAh battery with 65W wired and 15W wireless charging. The 50MP main camera has a large 1/1.3" sensor and it is joined by a 50MP 3x telephoto and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.

Other Notable Deals

Let's round off the other offers from Amazon's Big Spring Sale. The Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 is down to $800 for a 16/512GB model. The flip foldable has a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a 50MP main + 50MP ultra-wide dual camera, and a 4,700mAh battery with 68W/30W charging. The Razr Fold is still MIA, by the way.

Finally, Amazon has refurbished iPhone 13 and 14 (from 2021 and 2022) in the "renewed premium" category. These are from before the switch to USB-C and they still have notches. Both are powered by the A15 chipset, which is pretty zippy even by today's standards. And they have MagSafe support, in case you don't want to bother with Lightning cables. They are old, but Apple's great software support makes them viable even in 2026 and they only cost around $300.

The Market Reality

The current deals landscape shows how quickly the smartphone market evolves. The Galaxy A57, despite being the newest model, finds itself in an awkward position against both its predecessor and competing devices from OnePlus and Google. The price drops on the OnePlus 15 series and Pixel 10 models make them compelling alternatives, especially when you consider the additional features they offer over Samsung's A-series.

For consumers, this means more choices but also more complexity in decision-making. Whether you prioritize camera capabilities, battery life, display technology, or overall performance, there's likely a deal that fits your needs – assuming you can navigate the crowded field of options and discounts.
