Overview
Ransomware encrypts a victim's files, making them inaccessible. The attacker then demands payment (usually in cryptocurrency) in exchange for the decryption key.
Impact
Can cripple businesses, hospitals, and government agencies. Even if the ransom is paid, there is no guarantee the data will be recovered.
