The Anker Soundcore Space 2 headphones are set to launch on April 21 with improved battery life, LDAC support, and Bluetooth 6.1, but will cost $129.99—a $30 increase over the previous model.
The Anker Soundcore Space 2 headphones are shaping up to be a significant upgrade over their predecessor, though they'll come with a higher price tag when they launch later this month. According to a leak from the reliable AnkerInsider X account, the new over-ear headphones will debut on April 21 in the United States for $129.99, representing a $30 increase from the current Soundcore Space One's $99.99 price point.
Under the hood, the Space 2 will feature model number D1402 and pack 40mm double-layer diaphragm drivers, three microphones, and 4-stage low-frequency noise cancellation. The headphones will support LDAC for Hi-Res Wireless Audio, matching the capability of the current Space One model (available on Amazon for $99.99). They'll also include wear detection, Bluetooth 6.1 connectivity, and support for Bluetooth Multipoint, allowing users to connect to multiple devices simultaneously.
Battery life sees a notable improvement across the board. The Space 2 will offer 50 hours of playtime with active noise cancellation (ANC) enabled and 70 hours with ANC turned off, both measured at 50% volume. This compares favorably to the Space One's 40 hours with ANC on and 55 hours with ANC off. Fast charging remains a key feature, with a 5-minute charge providing 4 hours of playback.
The new model weighs in at 264 grams, just 5 grams heavier than its predecessor. When they launch, consumers will have three color options to choose from: Jet Black, Linen White, and Seafoam Green.
While the $30 price increase might give some budget-conscious buyers pause, the combination of extended battery life, the latest Bluetooth technology, and maintained features like LDAC support and wear detection suggests Anker is positioning the Space 2 as a more premium offering within its Soundcore lineup. The timing also makes sense, as it's been several years since the original Space One launched, and the 2024 pro model release indicates Anker has been iterating on the design and feature set.
For those interested in the current generation, the Space One remains available at its $99.99 price point, offering similar core features including LDAC support and respectable battery life. The Space 2's improvements will need to justify the $30 premium for many potential buyers, particularly given the competitive landscape in the sub-$150 headphone market.
The April 21 launch date gives interested consumers just over a month to decide whether the upgrades merit the additional cost, though final judgment will have to wait until official reviews and hands-on testing become available.
