Anthropic announces limited-time promotion doubling Claude usage during off-peak hours for Free, Pro, Max, and Team plans, excluding Enterprise customers.
Anthropic has introduced a two-week promotion offering Claude users double their standard usage limits during off-peak hours, reflecting a strategic approach to optimize server capacity while providing additional value to customers.
The promotion, running from March 13-27, 2026, automatically doubles usage quotas for Free, Pro, Max, and Team plan users outside the 8 AM-2 PM ET/5-11 AM PT window. During these off-peak hours, users will benefit from twice their regular allowance, while maintaining standard limits during business hours. Enterprise plans are notably excluded from this promotion.
"This is a smart move by Anthropic to balance server load across different times of day," noted AI analyst Sarah Jenkins. "By encouraging usage during traditionally quieter periods, they can optimize infrastructure utilization while providing tangible benefits to their user base."
The increased quotas apply across all Claude interfaces, including the web, desktop, and mobile applications, as well as specialized tools like Cowork Claude, Claude Code, Claude for Excel, and Claude for PowerPoint. Notably, the bonus usage doesn't count against weekly usage limits, providing additional flexibility for users with heavy workloads.
The promotion requires no action from eligible users, with the doubled limits automatically applied. This hands-off approach suggests Anthropic aims to minimize friction while maximizing user engagement during the promotional period.
Industry observers see this as part of a broader trend in AI service providers experimenting with flexible usage models. While some companies have introduced tiered pricing based on usage times, Anthropic's approach differs by temporarily altering existing plan terms rather than creating new pricing structures.
"What's particularly interesting is the exclusion of Enterprise plans," commented tech strategist Marcus Chen. "This suggests Anthropic may be targeting individual developers, small teams, and prosumers who might have more flexible schedules and could benefit from off-peak usage, rather than large organizations with established usage patterns."
The promotion comes amid increasing competition in the AI assistant space, with providers continuously seeking ways to differentiate their offerings. By enhancing off-peak access, Anthropic may be positioning Claude as a more versatile tool for non-traditional work hours, potentially appealing to international users, night owls, and side project developers.

As the promotion period concludes on March 27, 2026, all usage limits will return to standard levels without any changes to existing plans or billing structures. The temporary nature of the offer creates urgency while allowing Anthropic to evaluate the impact on user behavior and server capacity before considering similar promotions in the future.
