GameSir unveils three new Tarantula controllers with symmetrical thumbsticks, featuring advanced sensors, high polling rates, and customizable features across different price points and platforms.
GameSir has expanded its Tarantula controller lineup with three distinct models designed for both Xbox and PC gamers, each offering symmetrical thumbsticks reminiscent of PlayStation controllers. The new Tarantula Pro for Xbox, Tarantula 8K PC, and Tarantula Ultra 8K PC represent different tiers of gaming peripherals, with two available for pre-order now and the premium model arriving later this summer.
Tarantula Pro for Xbox: The Console-Focused Option
The Tarantula Pro for Xbox serves as the entry point into the new lineup, priced at $69.99 and available for pre-order in white. This wired controller is compatible with Xbox consoles including the last-gen Xbox One series, as well as PCs and Steam platforms.
Key features include GameSir's Mag-Res TMR sticks, micro switch ABXY buttons, and a mechanical D-pad. The controller boasts a 1,000Hz polling rate and 6-axis gyroscope functionality, though these advanced features only work when connected to PCs. The dual-mode triggers offer versatility with a switch between micro switch trigger mode and Hall Effect analog trigger mode.
Ergonomically, the Tarantula Pro features laser-engraved textured grips and triggers with integrated vibration motors for enhanced feedback. The controller includes two back buttons with individual switch locks and seven other customizable buttons. Connectivity is handled through an included detachable USB-C cable, and the device weighs 235 grams. RGB lighting and an audio jack round out the feature set, with compatibility for GameSir Nexus software.
Tarantula 8K PC: The High-Performance Wired Controller
Priced identically to the Xbox version at $69.99, the Tarantula 8K PC targets PC gamers exclusively with a bright orange shell and black buttons. This model drops the vibration motors to achieve a lighter weight of 180 grams while adding several PC-specific features.
The standout specification is the adjustable 8,000Hz polling rate, which can be dialed down to 250Hz, 1000Hz, 4000Hz, or the maximum 8000Hz. The controller also includes macro support with up to 32-step recording and a three-level adjustable turbo function (10Hz, 20Hz, and 30Hz).
Like its Xbox counterpart, the Tarantula 8K PC features Gen 2 of GameSir's Mag-Res TMR sticks, dual mode triggers, micro switch ABXY buttons, and a tactile switch D-pad. The device includes nine customizable buttons with two lockable back buttons, a 6-axis gyroscope, RGB lighting, and an audio jack. It works with GameSir Connect Software rather than the Nexus software used by the Xbox model.
Tarantula Ultra 8K PC: The Premium Wireless Experience
Positioned as the flagship model, the Tarantula Ultra 8K PC offers both USB-C wired and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity options. While pricing and availability details remain under wraps with more information promised this summer, the feature set suggests a premium positioning.
The Ultra model maintains the Gen-2 Mag-Res TMR sticks and dual-mode trigger stops while adding capacitive touch sensors to the ABXY buttons and right thumbstick. GameSir claims an impressive 8,000Hz polling rate with 0.5ms response time that works in both wireless and wired modes.
Enhanced features include dual asymmetric motors in the laser-engraved textured grips, macro support up to 32 steps, dual 6-axis gyroscopes, and RGB lighting. The controller works with both GameSir Connect software and the GameSir app. Notably, it lacks an audio jack, and GameSir hasn't disclosed the battery capacity, though a separate charging station will be available.
Platform Compatibility and Market Positioning
None of the new Tarantula controllers support Nintendo Switch, Android, or iOS platforms. For gamers needing cross-platform compatibility, GameSir points to the existing Tarantula Pro, which supports these additional platforms along with PCs and features a unique gear mechanism that changes the face button layout between Nintendo and Xbox configurations.
The three new controllers represent GameSir's strategy to capture different segments of the gaming market, from console-focused users to PC enthusiasts seeking high-performance peripherals with advanced features like ultra-high polling rates and wireless connectivity options.

The Tarantula series expansion comes as gaming controllers continue to evolve beyond basic input devices into sophisticated gaming peripherals with features previously found only in high-end gaming mice and keyboards. With pre-orders already available for the Tarantula Pro for Xbox and Tarantula 8K PC, and the Ultra model on the horizon, GameSir is positioning itself to compete in the growing market for premium gaming controllers.
