GMKtec's EVO T2 mini PC debuts with Intel Core Ultra X7 358H and Arc B390 graphics, offering RTX 4050-level performance in a compact form factor.

GMKtec has opened pre-orders for its EVO T2 mini PC, featuring Intel's latest Panther Lake architecture with the Core Ultra X7 358H processor and Arc B390 integrated graphics. The compact system, initially revealed in September 2025 and showcased at CES 2026, represents a significant step forward in mini PC performance capabilities.

The EVO T2 comes with two CPU options planned, though only the Core Ultra X7 358H is available in the first production batch. This upper-tier Panther Lake chip packs 16 cores and pairs with Intel's Arc B390 iGPU, which our testing shows delivers performance approaching that of Nvidia's RTX 4050 Laptop GPU. For users requiring additional graphics horsepower, the system includes an OCuLink port supporting high-performance eGPU expansion.

Connectivity options are comprehensive for a mini PC of this size. The rear panel hosts two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, three USB 2.0 Type-A ports, and two USB4 ports for high-speed data transfer and display output. Video connectivity includes HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, while networking options feature both 2.5G and 10G Ethernet ports. Wireless connectivity comes via WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Cooling is handled by a dual-fan setup designed to maintain peak performance of 60W without excessive noise. Memory capacity reaches up to 64GB LPDDR5X RAM, and storage can be expanded to 16TB using two M.2 2280 slots.

Pricing starts at $1,899 during the pre-order phase beginning March 30, 2026, at 3 PM UTC. This represents a premium over the Strix Halo-powered EVO-X2, though GMKtec has since increased the X2's price, making the EVO T2 comparatively more attractive. Early adopters can secure a $60 discount by subscribing to GMKtec's newsletter, though only 50 units will be available in this initial batch.

The Core Ultra X9 388H configuration, which would sit at the top of the lineup, has not yet been given a release date. Market conditions suggest this higher-end variant may not arrive in the immediate future.

For those interested in storage upgrades, the system supports high-capacity M.2 drives, with options like the 2TB Kingston NV3 currently available for around $305 on Amazon.

The EVO T2 positions itself as a powerful yet compact computing solution, particularly appealing to users who want strong integrated graphics performance without the bulk of a traditional desktop system. The combination of Panther Lake's efficiency, Arc B390's graphical capabilities, and extensive connectivity options makes it a compelling choice for both productivity and light gaming workloads in space-constrained environments.
