Honor's latest foldable flagship pushes durability boundaries with IP68/69 certification, revolutionary hinge design, and seamless Apple ecosystem integration.
Honor has unveiled the Magic V6 at MWC 2026, marking a significant milestone in foldable smartphone evolution. The device stands as the first foldable to achieve both IP68 and IP69 ingress protection ratings, while packing flagship specifications including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and an industry-leading 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery.

Engineering Excellence Meets Durability
The Magic V6 represents Honor's most ambitious engineering effort to date. At its core is the new Super Steel Hinge, constructed from the strongest commercially available steel and rated for an unprecedented 500,000 fold cycles. This durability testing, conducted at Honor's internal laboratories, far exceeds typical foldable lifespans and addresses one of the primary concerns consumers have had about foldable devices.
Despite this enhanced durability, Honor has maintained remarkably slim dimensions. The device measures just 8.75mm when folded - matching the iPhone 17 Pro Max - while weighing only 219 grams in its white color variant. When unfolded, the Magic V6 achieves an impressive 4mm thickness, making it one of the thinnest foldables available.
Display Innovation and Visual Excellence
Honor has significantly upgraded the display technology in the Magic V6. The main 7.95-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED panel offers 2,172 x 2,352px resolution with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate. A reinforced ultra-thin glass (UTG) layer reduces crease depth by 44%, making the fold line noticeably less prominent than previous generations.
The display also features a new anti-reflection coating and achieves a staggering 5,000 nits peak local brightness, ensuring excellent visibility even in direct sunlight. The cover display measures 6.52 inches with identical LTPO 2.0 technology, FHD+ resolution, and 6,000 nits peak brightness.
Both displays support stylus input and include 20MP selfie cameras, expanding the device's productivity capabilities.
Photography System with Periscope Zoom
Photography capabilities center around a familiar yet capable triple-camera setup. The primary 50MP sensor features an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization. The standout component is the 70mm equivalent 64MP periscope telephoto lens with a 1/2" sensor, offering 3x optical zoom for detailed close-up shots.
Completing the rear camera array is a 50MP ultrawide lens, providing versatility for landscape and group photography. This configuration maintains Honor's commitment to high-quality mobile photography while adding the specialized zoom capabilities that many users demand.
Performance and Storage Configuration
Powering the Magic V6 is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. This combination ensures flagship-level performance for demanding applications, multitasking, and gaming.
Revolutionary Battery Technology
The battery system represents one of the Magic V6's most significant advancements. The 6,660mAh silicon-carbon (Si-C) battery incorporates 25% silicon content and achieves 921Wh/L energy density - figures that surpass conventional lithium-ion batteries. This translates to exceptional battery life for a foldable device.
Charging capabilities are equally impressive, with 80W wired charging, 66W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging support. These features ensure users can quickly recharge or even power other devices when needed.
Software and Ecosystem Integration
MagicOS 10, based on Android 16, ships pre-installed on the Magic V6. Honor has committed to seven major Android upgrades, providing long-term software support that exceeds many competitors' offerings.
A particularly noteworthy feature is the enhanced cross-platform compatibility with Apple devices. Through Honor Connect, the Magic V6 now supports two-way notification syncing with iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches. Mac users can seamlessly share files and even use the Magic V6's main display as a secondary screen, breaking down traditional ecosystem barriers.
Design and Availability
The Magic V6 will launch in four color options: Red, Gold, White, and Black. While Honor has not yet announced pricing or specific availability details, the device's premium specifications and innovative features position it as a flagship contender in the foldable market.

Industry Impact
The Magic V6's IP69 rating represents a significant achievement for foldable technology, addressing durability concerns that have historically limited adoption. Combined with the device's engineering innovations, ecosystem integration capabilities, and battery technology, Honor has created a foldable that could appeal to both early adopters and mainstream consumers.
The seven-year software commitment and Apple ecosystem compatibility particularly stand out, as they address two major pain points in the Android ecosystem: long-term support and cross-platform functionality. If Honor can deliver on these promises while maintaining competitive pricing, the Magic V6 could significantly expand the foldable market beyond its current niche.
