Kärcher has entered the premium robot vacuum market with its RVF 7 Comfort Extra, now available in Germany and Spain. This hybrid cleaner introduces a distinctive roller mop system that sets it apart from competitors' vibrating or rotating mop designs. Unlike systems that reuse dirty water, Kärcher's roller maintains continuous fresh water flow while an internal wiping mechanism prevents dirt redistribution during cleaning cycles.

The vacuum component delivers 10,000 Pa suction power – notably lower than Roborock's flagship Saros 20 Sonic (35,000 Pa) but optimized for low-pile carpets and hard floors. Where the RVF 7 Comfort Extra innovates is in its AI-driven dirt detection. Using a front-facing camera paired with laser navigation, the system identifies soiled areas and dynamically adjusts cleaning patterns and intensity.

Kärcher's multifunctional docking station represents a significant advancement in maintenance automation. Beyond standard dustbin emptying, it manages liquid waste systems: emptying dirty water tanks, replenishing clean water, and performing warm-water washes of the roller mop followed by drying cycles. This reduces manual intervention between sessions.

App control enables scheduling, no-go zone mapping, and cleaning mode adjustments. While currently exclusive to Germany and Spain at €1,299.99 with unconfirmed availability elsewhere, the system targets homeowners seeking low-maintenance floor care. The roller mop technology may appeal particularly to those prioritizing hard-surface hygiene over raw suction power, though carpet cleaning performance remains untested against higher-suction competitors.

For European buyers, this positions as a premium alternative to Roborock and Ecovacs models, with its self-cleaning mop system potentially justifying the investment for tile and hardwood-focused households.
