Lenovo expands its ThinkPad T16 Gen 4 lineup with global availability of Intel Lunar Lake-powered models, which include 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM as standard in base configurations, complementing existing Arrow Lake variants that remain on sale at lower price points.

Lenovo has rolled out global availability for Intel Lunar Lake-powered configurations of the ThinkPad T16 Gen 4, a move that comes less than a month after the company launched the newer ThinkPad T16 Gen 5 in Australia and Europe. The Lunar Lake variants were first announced in February 2026, and now join the existing Arrow Lake-based ThinkPad T16 Gen 4 models that have been on sale since earlier this year.
The ThinkPad T16 Gen 5, which uses newer AMD Gorgon Point and Intel Panther Lake processors, is currently limited to Australia and Europe, with no North American release date confirmed. For buyers in the US, Canada, and other regions where Gen 5 is unavailable, the new Lunar Lake Gen 4 models represent the latest 16-inch ThinkPad option from Lenovo.
What's new in the Lunar Lake configurations
All new Lunar Lake models use Intel's Core Ultra 200V series processors, starting with the base Core Ultra 5 228V, an 8-core chip that trails the existing Core Ultra 5 225U (found in Arrow Lake Gen 4 models) in pure CPU benchmark performance. The key tradeoff is integrated graphics: the Core Ultra 5 228V includes an Arc 130V iGPU that outperforms the graphics solution in the Core Ultra 5 225U, making it a better fit for light creative work, 4K media playback, and casual gaming.
Higher configuration options include the Core Ultra 5 236V, Core Ultra 5 238V, Core Ultra 7 258V, and Core Ultra 7 268V, all part of Intel's Lunar Lake lineup with built-in Arc graphics. All Lunar Lake configurations come with LPDDR5X-8533 memory, with the base model shipping with 32GB of RAM as standard. Storage options range from 256GB to 1TB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage, and buyers can choose between a 52.5 Wh battery for lighter weight or an 86 Wh battery for extended runtime.
Display options are identical across all ThinkPad T16 Gen 4 variants: four total configurations, all using 1920x1200 (1200p) IPS panels with 60Hz refresh rates. There are no OLED, touch, or high-refresh-rate display options available for this model line.
How the Lunar Lake models compare to existing options
Pricing for the base Lunar Lake configuration, which includes the Core Ultra 5 228V and 32GB of RAM, starts at $1,739 in the US, £1,409 in the UK, AUD 2,259 in Australia, and between €1,578 and €1,781 in Eurozone markets. For comparison, the existing Arrow Lake-based ThinkPad T16 Gen 4 with a Core Ultra 5 225U processor currently retails for $1,199 on Amazon, though that model's RAM and storage configurations are not publicly listed with the same detail as the new Lunar Lake variants.
The Lunar Lake models carry a $540 premium over the base Arrow Lake model in the US, a cost that covers the 32GB of RAM (versus unspecified memory in the Arrow Lake base) and the more capable Arc integrated graphics. Buyers who do not need the extra memory or better GPU performance will find better value in the Arrow Lake configurations, which offer faster multi-core CPU performance for productivity tasks like compiling code, data processing, and heavy spreadsheet work.
Regional availability for the Lunar Lake models is broad: order pages are live in the US, UK, Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, and most other European markets. The laptops are not yet available in Canada, and Lenovo has not provided a timeline for Canadian availability. The Gen 5 models remain exclusive to Australia and Europe for now, with no word on when they will reach North America or other regions.
Who should buy the Lunar Lake ThinkPad T16 Gen 4
The ThinkPad T16 Gen 4 with Lunar Lake processors is best suited for office workers, students, and multitaskers who need ample memory and strong integrated graphics performance. The 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM handles heavy browser tabs, multiple productivity apps, and light virtual machine workloads without slowdowns, while the Arc 130V iGPU can handle 4K video editing in Adobe Premiere Rush, light Blender renders, and casual games like League of Legends at 1080p low settings.
The 16-inch 1200p 16:10 panel offers more vertical screen space than standard 1080p 16-inch displays, making it easier to work on documents, spreadsheets, and code without constant scrolling. The optional 86 Wh battery should provide 8 to 10 hours of mixed use for typical office workloads, while the 52.5 Wh battery will likely last 5 to 7 hours depending on brightness and workload.
Buyers who prioritize portability or lower cost should note that the ThinkPad T14 Gen 4 offers similar performance in a smaller 14-inch chassis at a lower price point. The T16 is better suited for users who need the larger screen for split-screen work or detailed productivity tasks.
We have previously reviewed the AMD-powered variant of the ThinkPad T16 Gen 4, which shares the same chassis, display options, port selection, and keyboard as the new Intel Lunar Lake models. That review covers build quality, keyboard comfort, port layout, and thermal performance in detail, all of which apply to the Lunar Lake configurations.
Official order pages are available on Lenovo US, Lenovo UK, Lenovo Australia, and Lenovo's regional sites for France, Germany, and Ireland.
