The Redmi K90 Ultra has received its 3C certification in China, confirming 100W fast wired charging ahead of its expected June launch.

The Redmi K90 Ultra has now received its compulsory 3C certification in China ahead of its launch, following a specs leak from February. The device is confirmed to support 100W fast wired charging.

The Redmi K90 Ultra is believed to rock the model number 2604FRK1EC. The Redmi K80 Ultra, its predecessor, launched back in June of last year, so we expect the K90 Ultra to be made official in June at the latest.

According to previous rumors, it will have a 6.8-inch screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and "1.5K" resolution, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC at the helm, and an 8,500 mAh battery. Also expect a metal frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and a built-in cooling fan.

This 100W charging certification is particularly noteworthy given the massive 8,500 mAh battery capacity. While many flagship phones have adopted 100W+ charging in recent years, pairing such high charging speeds with a battery of this size is relatively uncommon. The combination suggests Redmi is targeting users who want all-day battery life without sacrificing charging convenience.

The 3C certification (China Compulsory Certification) is a mandatory testing and certification system for products imported or sold in China. This certification confirms the device meets Chinese electrical safety standards and provides official confirmation of the charging specifications before retail availability.

With the Dimensity 9500 expected to power the device, the K90 Ultra will likely compete in the premium mid-range to flagship segment, offering performance that rivals Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 series while potentially undercutting competitors on price - a strategy Redmi has successfully employed with previous K-series Ultra models.

The inclusion of a built-in cooling fan is another interesting design choice, suggesting Redmi is prioritizing sustained performance during extended gaming sessions or heavy workloads. This feature, combined with the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and metal frame, positions the K90 Ultra as a feature-rich device aimed at power users.

As we approach the expected June launch window, more details about the Redmi K90 Ultra should emerge, including official pricing and regional availability beyond China.
