Schlage will launch the Sense Pro Smart Deadbolt on June 29, 2026, for $399 in the U.S. and $549 in Canada. The company first showed the lock at CES 2025, then spent more than a year preparing its retail release.

Amazon, Lowe’s, The Home Depot, and Schlage will sell the lock online at launch. Canadian buyers can also find it in Home Depot stores.

The Sense Pro marks Schlage’s first smart lock with Matter over Thread support. That gives the deadbolt a local smart home path through hubs such as Apple TV 4K and HomePod, while built-in Wi-Fi covers remote control through the Schlage Home app for homes without a Thread border router.

Schlage also added Ultra Wideband, which it brands as Schlage Converge. UWB lets the lock measure a phone or watch’s position, direction, and approach path. With a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch and Apple Home Key, the deadbolt can unlock as you reach the handle.

That approach gives the Sense Pro a clear advantage over older Bluetooth smart locks. A Bluetooth model can detect presence, but it has less precision. UWB gives Schlage enough spatial awareness to tell whether you are walking toward the door or passing near it.

Android support depends on the Aliro standard. Schlage said it expects Aliro certification later in 2026. After that, compatible Samsung Wallet and Google Wallet users should get hands-free UWB unlocking. Android phones without UWB hardware can still use NFC tap-to-unlock.

The hardware also includes a USB-C jumpstart port on the exterior side. If the internal batteries run down, you can connect an external battery pack and power the lock long enough to get inside.

At $399, the Sense Pro sits above many mainstream smart deadbolts. Schlage asks buyers to pay for UWB, Matter over Thread, Home Key support, Wi-Fi fallback, and Aliro readiness in one lock. That package makes the most sense for Apple Home users now, with Android buyers getting the full pitch after Aliro certification arrives.
