Vivo has introduced the Y6 5G, a budget smartphone that pairs a massive 7,200 mAh battery with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. The device also offers a 120 Hz LCD, a 50 MP main camera and IP68/IP69 durability, starting at roughly $263 in China.
Vivo has added a new model to its Y‑series lineup with the announcement of the Vivo Y6 5G. The device is notable for its 7,200 mAh battery, which is among the largest capacities seen in a budget‑focused phone.

It measures 8.39 mm thick and weighs 219 grams, making it relatively slim for a phone that carries such a large cell. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, the same silicon found in the recently launched Y6t.
The Vivo Y6 5G sports a 6.57‑inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1570 x 720 pixels, a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and a 120 Hz refresh rate. On the imaging side, a single 50 MP rear camera is paired with an 8 MP front shooter for selfies and video calls.

The phone runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 straight out of the box. Vivo has not disclosed a long‑term update schedule, so future software support remains uncertain. Energy is supplied by the 7,200 mAh battery, which accepts 44 W wired charging; an optional Anker Nano 45 W GaN charger is listed at $25.99 on Amazon.
Additional hardware includes a side‑mounted fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster, and both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The Y6 5G will be sold in silver, gold and black finishes. Pricing starts at CNY 1,799 ($263) for the 8 GB RAM / 128 GB variant, rises to CNY 1,999 ($292) for 8 GB / 256 GB, and tops out at CNY 2,199 (~$322) for the 12 GB / 256 GB model.
The smartphone is currently available for purchase through Vivo’s online store in China. International availability has not been announced, and it remains to be seen whether the model will reach other markets. The Y6 5G shares its core specifications with the Y6t, differing mainly in battery size and a few minor design tweaks.
