Overview

CAs are the 'trust anchors' of the internet. When you visit a website with HTTPS, your browser checks the site's certificate against a list of trusted CAs to ensure the site is legitimate.

Types of Certificates

  • Domain Validated (DV): Verifies ownership of the domain.
  • Organization Validated (OV): Verifies the existence of the organization.
  • Extended Validation (EV): Provides the highest level of trust through rigorous verification.
