Overview
Gwei (short for Giga-Wei) is the most common unit used when discussing Ethereum gas fees. It is much easier for humans to read '20 Gwei' than the equivalent value in ETH or Wei.
Conversion
- 1 Gwei = 1,000,000,000 Wei (10^9)
- 1 Gwei = 0.000000001 ETH (10^-9)
Context
When you set your gas price for a transaction, you are specifying how many Gwei you are willing to pay for each unit of gas consumed.
