Overview
Source Network Address Translation (SNAT) is typically used when internal hosts with private IP addresses need to access the public internet. The router replaces the private source IP with its own public IP.
Use Case
Standard internet access for devices on a local network. In many contexts, 'SNAT' is used interchangeably with 'Dynamic NAT' or 'PAT'.
