The EndeavourOS team has released version 2026.03.06, codenamed Titan, bringing significant improvements to the Arch-based Linux distribution's installation process and hardware support.

What's new in Titan

The latest release ships with the Linux 6.19.6.arch1-1 kernel, available for both the live environment and offline installer. This kernel update provides enhanced hardware compatibility and performance optimizations for a wide range of systems.

Enhanced hardware detection

One of the most notable improvements in this release is the overhauled hardware detection system. The Calamares 26.03.1.3-1 installer now includes comprehensive GPU and VM detection capabilities. When installing additional drivers, the system automatically includes Vulkan drivers and packages required for hardware acceleration when applicable.

The eos-hwtool utility, which powers the installer's hardware detection, is now available for users to install and remove GPU drivers as needed after installation.

Updated software stack

Titan includes several updated packages:

  • Firefox 148.0-1 for the latest web browsing experience
  • Improved mirror ranking support for faster package downloads
  • Mesa 1:26.0.1-1 for enhanced graphics performance
  • Xorg-server 21.1.21-1 for improved display server functionality
  • Nvidia-utils 590.48.01-4 for NVIDIA graphics card support

Installation considerations

Existing EndeavourOS users can update to Titan without performing a fresh installation. However, new installations will notice that the ISO size has increased from 3 GB to 3.4 GB to accommodate the additional features and drivers.

The distribution maintains its commitment to providing a clean, bloat-free Arch-based experience, with the larger ISO size justified by the enhanced hardware support and driver options.

Download and availability

Users can download EndeavourOS 2026.03.06 Titan from the official website, where Magnet and Torrent links are available alongside multiple mirrors for direct download. The distribution continues to focus on making Arch Linux accessible to users who want the power of Arch without the complexity of manual installation.

This release represents another step in EndeavourOS's mission to deliver the best possible Arch-based Linux experience, with particular attention paid to making hardware configuration and driver installation more straightforward for users of all experience levels.
