New leaks suggest Insta360's Luna Ultra will feature 6x optical zoom and a detachable camera module, potentially outclassing DJI's Osmo Pocket 4P with modular capabilities for remote monitoring and vlogging.
Following the official launch of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 and the first official teaser of the dual-camera Osmo Pocket 4P (yes, DJI has opted for "4P" over the "Pro" branding), the gimbal camera rumors keep coming. The latest leak from X suggests that the Osmo Pocket 4P's hot new rival, the Insta360 Luna Ultra, might be coming for DJI's lunch with a staggering 6x optical zoom - doubling the officially confirmed 3x zoom found on the Osmo Pocket 4P.
That said, this leak is to be taken with a healthy pinch of salt since it hasn't been corroborated by other sources yet.

Latest "Luna Ultra" leaks hint at modular camera with 6x zoom as Insta360 takes a jab at DJI Osmo Pocket 4 on social media
Furthermore, immediately following the Osmo Pocket 4's launch, Insta360 took to X to post a pixelated teaser of the Luna Ultra. The caption read: "Was that it...?" - a clear jab at DJI, implying that the Pocket 4 lineup may have left something to be desired compared to what Insta360 has in waiting in line.
Adding fuel to the fire, serial leaker Igor Bogdanov replied to Insta360's teaser with what looks like a cropped, real-life photo of the Luna Ultra. The image focuses specifically on the bit where the gimbal meets the camera body, and the caption above the photo says: "Does it separate?" - aligning perfectly with recent leaks regarding the Luna's modular capabilities.

If the rumors hold true, we could be looking at an innovative Luna Ultra design where the camera module detaches from the handle.
Compared to the dual-camera DJI Osmo Pocket 4P, this might allow the Insta360 Luna Ultra features like:
- Remote monitoring and recording from a distance
- Wearable mounting options similar to the Insta360GO series
- Greater flexibility for vlogging in tight spaces
Would the ability to detach the camera from the handle be a big selling point for you?
