Overview

Core Web Vitals are a subset of Web Vitals that apply to all web pages. They measure key aspects of the user experience: loading, interactivity, and visual stability. Google uses these as ranking signals for search results.

The Three Pillars

  1. Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): Measures loading performance.
  2. First Input Delay (FID): Measures interactivity (being replaced by INP).
  3. Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS): Measures visual stability.

Importance

Optimizing for Core Web Vitals improves user satisfaction, reduces bounce rates, and can lead to better search engine rankings.
