Juewu Technology raises $14.4M to scale its modular deformable robot platform for heavy-load all-terrain applications, with plans for global expansion.

Juewu Technology, a Shenzhen-based robotics company specializing in heavy-load all-terrain robots, has secured over RMB 100 million (approximately $14.4 million) in Series A funding led by China Growth Capital, with participation from Jiangxi Financial Control Capital. The company, which previously received investments from Richland Capital and Anker Innovations, is now preparing for global expansion after completing over 1 million kilometers of field testing.

The modular deformable robot platform developed by Juewu Technology represents a significant advancement in outdoor robotics. Based on the design concept of "deformable chassis + modular payload," the company has created what it claims is the world's first modular deformable robot system for outdoor scenarios. This approach allows a single robot platform to complete different operational functions by swapping attachment modules, similar to how Transformers reconfigure for different tasks.

Core products include the "Hechu T3000" for large fields and the "Jilu G3000" for orchards. Both models can be rapidly reconfigured through module replacement on the same core system, adapting to vastly different operational environments. This modular approach addresses a critical challenge in outdoor robotics: the need to handle diverse terrain and task requirements without requiring entirely separate platforms for each use case.

Juewu Technology's robots have undergone extensive field testing in Xinjiang's outdoor environment, with cumulative test mileage exceeding 1 million kilometers and completing 5 generations with nearly 40 minor version iterations. This rigorous testing regime has resulted in products that have entered large-scale application in regions including Xinjiang and Zhejiang. The company's focus on real-world validation rather than just laboratory testing appears to have been a key factor in attracting investor interest.

Beyond agricultural scenarios, Juewu Technology has begun exploring cross-scenario applications. Earlier this year, the company partnered with Tus Environmental to apply its robot platforms to urban emergency scenarios such as snow removal. These explorations leverage the platform's chassis mobility capabilities, low-temperature environmental adaptability, and experience handling complex road conditions.

China Growth Capital partner Chen Huan emphasized the commercial viability of Juewu's approach: "Robots that can be implemented, applied, and possess direct commercial value are a track that China Growth Capital has long focused on. Relying on its world-first modular deformable system design, Juewu Technology's heavy-load all-terrain outdoor robot platform has taken the lead in achieving large-scale commercial implementation in agricultural scenarios."

The funding will support several strategic initiatives. First, the company plans to accelerate its global expansion, targeting regions like Europe, Australia, and Canada where large-scale agricultural production faces rising labor costs and labor shortages. The founder noted that the company is currently focusing on target region testing and compliance preparation before pushing for substantive implementation in overseas markets.

Second, Juewu Technology will continue expanding into new application scenarios beyond agriculture. The company's technical foundation in mobility, environmental adaptability, and modular design positions it well for applications in construction, mining, forestry, and emergency response.

The backing from Anker Innovations, known for its consumer electronics and smart home products, suggests potential synergies in areas like battery technology, connectivity, and user interface design. Anker's experience in bringing hardware products to global markets could prove valuable as Juewu Technology expands internationally.

This funding round reflects growing investor confidence in practical robotics applications that solve real-world problems. Unlike many robotics startups that focus on futuristic concepts or laboratory demonstrations, Juewu Technology has prioritized field testing and commercial deployment. The company's approach of creating a versatile platform rather than specialized robots for individual tasks could prove more economically viable as it scales globally.

The timing of this funding is particularly relevant given global trends in agriculture and labor markets. As populations age in developed countries and younger workers increasingly avoid physically demanding agricultural work, automated solutions like Juewu's robots could help address critical labor shortages while improving efficiency and reducing costs.

For the robotics industry more broadly, Juewu Technology's success demonstrates the potential of modular design approaches and the importance of extensive field testing before seeking major funding rounds. The company's ability to secure significant investment after proving its technology through over 1 million kilometers of testing suggests that investors are increasingly prioritizing demonstrated reliability over theoretical potential.
