Apple's services division achieved unprecedented growth across Apple Music, Apple TV+, App Store, and payment systems during 2025, with key metrics showing massive user engagement and revenue milestones.

Apple's services ecosystem delivered historic performance throughout 2025, breaking records across entertainment, app distribution, and financial services according to a year-end report from Senior VP Eddy Cue. The division - spanning Apple Music, Apple TV+, App Store, Apple Pay, iCloud, and more - saw unprecedented engagement during the holiday season, cementing services as Apple's second-largest revenue stream.
Cue highlighted Apple Music's dual milestones: "all-time highs in both listenership and new subscribers" fueled by features like Lyrics Translation and AutoMix DJ-style transitions.
The streaming service's growth reflects Apple's expanding audio ecosystem, which now includes over 1 billion monthly Shazam recognitions identifying songs globally.
Apple TV+ emerged as a breakout star, with December 2025 viewership shattering all prior records. Total hours watched surged 36% year-over-year during the month, driven by award-winning originals and enhanced features like AI-generated podcast chapters and Enhance Dialogue audio tools.
The App Store maintained its dominance with over 850 million weekly active users worldwide. Developers have earned $550 billion through the platform since 2008, with 2024 alone generating $1.3 trillion in billings. Holiday 2025 set new records for both store traffic and digital spending between Christmas and New Year's Day.
Apple Pay demonstrated significant financial impact beyond transactions:
- Eliminated over $1 billion in payment fraud globally
- Generated $100+ billion in incremental merchant sales
- Holiday purchase volume grew faster than overall consumer spending
The payment system now operates across 89 markets, while Find My expanded to South Korea and helped reduce permanently lost airline luggage by 90% through AirTag integration according to baggage handling system SITA.
Other services hitting milestones included Apple Fitness+ adding Spanish/German dubbing across 28 new countries, Apple Arcade launching 50+ ad-free games, and Apple News celebrating its 10th anniversary.
This growth occurs amid increasing regulatory scrutiny of Apple's ecosystem practices. The EU's Digital Markets Act and investigations in Japan, South Korea, Brazil, and elsewhere challenge App Store policies and payment requirements. Apple maintains these frameworks ensure security while enabling developer success.
As Cue noted: "We remain committed to enhancing users’ daily lives... guided by privacy and customer experience." With services now contributing over $100 billion annually, Apple continues investing in AI-powered features like Wallet order tracking and Maps route prediction to maintain momentum into 2026.
