Number Research Inc. has emerged from stealth with a $4.2 million seed round to build AI tools that help financial analysts work faster and more accurately.

Number Research Inc., a San Francisco-based startup building AI-powered financial analysis tools, has announced a $4.2 million seed funding round led by XYZ Ventures with participation from several angel investors. The company is launching its first product, an AI assistant that helps financial analysts automate routine research tasks and generate insights from complex financial data.

The platform uses natural language processing to understand analyst queries and retrieve relevant financial information from public and proprietary data sources. Early users report saving 3-5 hours per week on routine analysis tasks, allowing them to focus on higher-value strategic work.

"Financial analysts spend too much time on repetitive tasks like data gathering and basic modeling," said Sarah Chen, CEO of Number Research. "Our AI handles the grunt work so analysts can focus on what they do best - making strategic recommendations based on deep financial understanding."

Number Research's technology integrates with existing financial software and can process information in multiple formats including SEC filings, earnings transcripts, and market data. The company plans to use the new funding to expand its engineering team and accelerate product development.

Financial services firms have shown strong interest in AI tools that can reduce manual workload while maintaining accuracy. Number Research joins a growing wave of startups applying AI to specialized professional workflows, following similar approaches in legal tech and healthcare.

The company is currently in private beta with select financial institutions and plans to open a wider release later this year. Pricing starts at $99 per user per month for individual analysts, with enterprise packages available for larger teams.
