PowerA slashes prices on its Xbox Series X|S wireless controllers by 40%, bringing the Borderlands and Pac-Man editions down to $59.99 with unique features like Hall Effect sticks and glow-in-the-dark designs.
PowerA has dropped the price of its Xbox Series X|S wireless controllers by 40%, bringing the Borderlands and Pac-Man special edition variants down to $59.99 from their original $99.99 price tag. The Fortnite edition is also discounted to the same price, though only through PowerA's website rather than Amazon.

The PowerA Wireless Controller for Xbox Series X|S offers several premium features that set it apart from standard controllers. Most notably, it uses Hall Effect thumbsticks and Hall Effect triggers, which provide more precise input and better durability compared to traditional analog sticks. The triggers feature a three-way lock system - a notable upgrade over the typical two-way locks found on most gaming controllers - allowing users to adjust trigger sensitivity across three different positions.

For gamers who need extra functionality, the controller includes four programmable back buttons and multi-profile support, letting you switch between different button configurations on the fly. The rubberized grips and anti-friction rings enhance comfort during extended gaming sessions.

The PAC-MAN edition offers a unique visual element - it glows in the dark and under UV light, making it stand out during late-night gaming sessions. All three special edition variants maintain the same core functionality despite their different aesthetic designs.
Powering these features is a 1,200mAh rechargeable battery that provides up to 30 hours of use on a single charge. The controller charges via USB-C and is also compatible with the charging dock that comes with the PowerA Fusion Pro wireless controller. For audio needs, there's a built-in audio jack with a volume adjustment dial.
Connectivity options are comprehensive - the controller connects wirelessly to Xbox Series S|X consoles through an included low-latency wireless dongle, but can also function as a wired controller. PowerA states it's compatible with Xbox One and Windows 10/11 devices as well.

While the controller has received mostly positive reviews on Amazon, there are some considerations to keep in mind. PowerA doesn't sell the wireless receiver separately, so if the included dongle gets lost or damaged, you'd need to use the controller in wired mode. More concerning are reports of stick drift issues despite the Hall Effect technology, which is typically more resistant to this problem than traditional analog sticks. However, Hall Effect components shouldn't experience drift for years under normal use. Some users have resolved issues through recalibration using the companion app.
The 40% discount makes these premium controllers significantly more accessible, especially considering their advanced features like Hall Effect sensors and the unique three-way trigger lock system that aren't commonly found in third-party controllers at this price point.
