Ugreen's FineTrack Slim Smart Finder now features wireless charging, louder alerts, and same Find My integration at competitive pricing.

Ugreen has launched an upgraded version of its FineTrack Slim Smart Finder in Europe, introducing wireless charging capabilities to challenge Apple's AirTag dominance. The new FineTrack Slim (Wireless) represents a significant improvement over its predecessor, addressing one of the main criticisms of the original model while maintaining its core functionality.

The key upgrade is the addition of wireless charging support. While the original FineTrack Slim featured a rechargeable battery that lasted approximately 12 months, it required a dedicated charging cable for power replenishment. The new version eliminates this inconvenience by supporting standard Qi wireless charging pads, though Ugreen does not include a charging pad with the purchase. This change significantly improves the user experience by allowing users to simply place the tracker on any compatible wireless charging surface.

Beyond the charging upgrade, Ugreen has also enhanced the device's alert system. The FineTrack Slim (Wireless) now features a slightly louder buzzer capable of producing sounds up to 100 dB. This improvement makes it easier to locate items when the tracker is nearby, particularly useful in noisy environments or when the device is hidden under cushions or in bags.

In terms of core functionality, the new model appears identical to the original FineTrack Slim. It continues to support Apple's Find My network, providing global positioning capabilities for iOS users. The device includes features such as left-behind reminders that notify users when they've moved too far from their tagged items, remote search functionality through the Find My app, and the ability to share tracked items with family members or friends.

Ugreen markets the FineTrack Slim (Wireless) as IP68 dust and water resistant, though specific dimensions are not provided. If the dimensions match the original model, the tracker would measure approximately 8.5 x 5.3 x 0.17 cm (3.35 x 2.09 x 0.67 inches), making it comparable in size to competing tracking devices.

Pricing for the new model is competitive with the original, with the FineTrack Slim (Wireless) available in the UK for £24.99 and in EU countries like Germany for €24.99 at retail price. However, Amazon currently offers the device at a discounted €18.99, making it an even more attractive alternative to Apple's offering. The US release date remains unclear, leaving American consumers waiting to see if Ugreen will bring this upgraded version across the Atlantic.

The FineTrack Slim (Wireless) represents Ugreen's continued effort to provide Apple ecosystem-compatible accessories at more accessible price points. By addressing the charging inconvenience of the original model while maintaining its core Find My integration, Ugreen has created a compelling alternative for users who want tracking functionality without the premium Apple price tag.

The timing of this release suggests Ugreen is responding to market demand for more convenient tracking solutions, as wireless charging has become increasingly standard across consumer electronics. The combination of wireless charging, Find My compatibility, and competitive pricing positions the FineTrack Slim (Wireless) as a strong contender in the Bluetooth tracker market, particularly for users already invested in the Apple ecosystem who want to track multiple items without the higher cost of official Apple accessories.
