vivo showcased its upcoming Pad6 Pro tablet at MWC 2026, featuring what it claims is the industry's first 4K true color screen and powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

vivo has given us our first look at its upcoming Pad6 Pro tablet, showcasing the device at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with some impressive specifications that could make it a serious contender in the Android tablet market.

The headline feature is what vivo calls "the industry's first 4K true color screen" that promises "lifelike" visuals. While the company hasn't released full technical specifications yet, rumors from Chinese sources suggest we're looking at a 13.2-inch display with 4K resolution. That would translate to roughly 309 pixels per inch - an exceptionally sharp pixel density for a tablet of this size.

Powering the device is Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. This represents a significant generational leap from the previous Pad5 Pro, which used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Elite Gen 5 brings improved CPU and GPU performance, better power efficiency, and enhanced AI capabilities compared to its predecessor.

One of the promotional images shows the tablet with a keyboard and stylus attached, suggesting vivo is positioning this as a productivity device rather than just a media consumption tablet. The company is also promising 4K gaming capabilities with "Super Resolution & Frame Interpolation for Peak Performance" - features that would help upscale lower-resolution content and smooth out frame rates for a better gaming experience.

Battery life and charging speeds appear to be priorities as well. Chinese rumors point to a substantial 13,000 mAh battery paired with 90W wired charging support. That combination would allow for all-day usage while enabling relatively quick top-ups when needed.

However, there's a significant caveat: like many of vivo's tablet releases, the Pad6 Pro might initially be limited to the Chinese market. The company has a history of releasing compelling tablet hardware that never makes it to global markets, which has frustrated international fans of the brand.

The timing of this reveal is interesting, coming just under a year after the Pad5 Pro's April 2025 launch. This suggests vivo is accelerating its tablet release cycle, possibly in response to growing competition in the Android tablet space from Samsung, Xiaomi, and others.

For now, we'll have to wait for more details about pricing, availability, and the complete spec sheet. But if vivo can deliver on these promises and expand availability beyond China, the Pad6 Pro could be one of the most compelling Android tablets of 2026.
