Xiaomi Tag's price surfaces

Xiaomi's upcoming tracking accessory has been accidentally listed on the French website, revealing a €17.99 price tag for the single unit and €59.99 for a four-pack.

The Xiaomi Tag, the company's answer to Apple's AirTag, has had its price accidentally revealed on Xiaomi's official French website. The single unit is listed at €17.99, while a four-pack bundle costs €59.99. This pricing positions Xiaomi's tracker competitively in the market, though some retailers are already offering it below €15 before the official launch.

Interestingly, the version that surfaced appears to lack Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support, contrary to earlier rumors. This suggests Xiaomi plans to release two variants: a more affordable model without UWB and a premium version with the technology. UWB enables more precise tracking and directional finding capabilities, which explains why Apple includes it in AirTags.

The Xiaomi Tag will integrate with Google's Find My Device network, similar to how AirTags work within Apple's ecosystem. This cross-platform compatibility could be a significant advantage, as it allows tracking through a broader network of Android devices. The tracker uses a standard CR2032 coin battery, which Xiaomi claims will last approximately one year before requiring replacement.

Some European retailers have already listed the device, with prices undercutting Xiaomi's recommended retail price. This early availability and price competition indicate strong market interest in the product before its official launch.
